The strongman stuff has always interested me so I’ll be watching to see how you enjoy it.
Nice work- strong man training sounds like allot of fun
think its a good ( better?) compliment to your conditioning WOD’s
Compliment. I honestly feel tons better on stabilizing muscles and overall better health. However doing the WOD 4-5 days a week long term is not good, just like doing straight PL long term is not good. I plan on rotating things ever 3-4 months, this way long term I can be healthy and happy.
Doing the burpees the other day my knees never touched the ground now, I actually drop to push up position then explode up to my feet. 3 months ago I looked 80 years old trying to do it. Same with box jumps etc.
Thats a great feeling to master a move that used to kick your ass. Roman has me doing single leg variations 16 ways from Sunday and I cursed him for it at the start. Now a single leg squat to a bench is no big deal. The added bonus is my ankles do not hurt anymore and I feel more coordinated. Which translates to less falling down for me.

Really? My trainer has me sitting on the floor when I start drinking err exercising so when I fall down it doesn’t hurt. He calls it “Training Economy” LOL

Bet your enjoying that dip today. Awesome self control. I don’t know how the f you do it, I couldn’t.
Good luck in your strongman training, I’ll be following.

Monday New Shoe day
Warm Up 400 meter run, push ups, GH back extensions, foam rolling etc
They weighed my farmers bars and they weigh 45 pounds apiece. More grip work.
135 X 40 yards X 7 rounds X Farmers walks min rest between rounds
between rounds worked on band pull aparts and lateral band walks etc
90 DB X 4 X 8 one arm DB rows
15 DB X 3 X 30 seconds Hex dumbell holds. Basically pinch work holding end of DB’s.
Basically my forearms are burnt again.
Nice shoes. Nice work the last three days. You are on a mission lately!
Thanks, yes well just trying to grind it out.

Sadist!!
nice! how did you like training in the new shoes buddy?
Thanks Greg, not bad for just one day. Took today off since had 3 decent workouts last 3 days.
Yesterday when I ran my 400 warm up really felt the stretch in my right achilles and plantar fascia. I am just going to ease my way into running with the vibrams. But doing the farmers walks really felt stable.
Go-go-gorilla feet!
Good work in here man.
You still like how the WOD’s are helping your fitness?

Right now I am doing a strongman workout from lean hybrid muscle dot com Mon-Wed-Fri.
Tues and Thurs are going to be my variable days, some times do WOD or just rest like today.
Sat is WOD for sure and Sun is a running day.
The grip work is out of this world for the strongman, which I have really failed to do over the last few years anyway.
Stop being in better shape than me despite being like 40 years older.
Thanks for your understanding.
Wed More Strongman
Warm up 400 meter run, push ups, sit ups, GH back extensions, foam roll etc (we actually do a lot more to much to put down)
135 X 2 X 3 Axle clean and Press
145 X 2 X 3 Axle clean and Press
155 X 2 X 3 Axle clean and press
70 DB X 4 X 8 Log Press (dont have a log yet, so using DB’s to do like a Log/Push press I havent done DB’s in forever)
45 plate X 3 X 8 Front plate raise superset with
25 DB X 3 X 8 rear delt raise
I tell you what the Axle clean and press is hard, cleaning a bar with fat grips is not easy. The weight is not bad for the the motion, just grip is fucking terrible. If any thing this is going to get my grip where I need it to be with Popeye forearms ![]()
This some pretty solid work in here (for a Cowboys fan).
How do you find your forearm recovery? I have FatGripz and I can use them on a limited basis otherwise I’m into some serious brachio/elbow issues.
