Supposed to be three reps. But for some reason I feel that my form gets better on subsequent reps. Just the opposite with conventional. I really don’t understand how to set up for this lift. And it shows.
Wide-Stance Low-Bar Squat
5/45
5/95
3/5/115 High bar for second set only
A circuit of lat pulldown, paused DB shrugs, and HLRs.
On the 185 you were much more stable. Your grip seemed pretty wide, is that normal for you? Usually, people keep their arms vertical and parallel. Also, you looked to the side just before you finished the last rep. Be very, very careful, odd things can happen to the neck area if you start twisting it during a max effort.

Great pulls. You might want to try a bit wider foot stance. It may help with the swaying.
I don’t know what was up with the sway. I didn’t know it happened until I watched the vid. I think the sumo pulls look smoother because the weight was 35 lb. less. But I’m not sure I can break a really heavy single off the floor in sumo stance.

I have to believe there’s some carry over from wide stance squats to sumo pulls.
Everytime I think of either I think of the Louie Simmons Belt Squat machine and how I bet lots of wish we had access to one (for some spinal deload days).
Or you could go the economical route and just do Belt squats from boxes.
I bet you could even work on breaking from the floor if you started the weight on the floor each rep.

Goblet sqauats would be another option. Its not 100% spinal deload but its much lower than back squats.
