Gosh, just say the word “orgy” and everyone around here gets all happy.

Kimba, I’ve been meaning to ask: what are you rehabbing? Did I miss you saying that somewhere?[/quote]
I have patellar tendonitis in my left knee which flares up every spring when I start bicycle riding longer distances. This year instead of going to physical therapy yet again, I decided to try a chiro that does ART. In the course of her evaluation of me, she found a big strength imbalance in my weak left hip and leg. So I’m trying to fix that with a shit ton of rehab exercises.
As a side benefit, I’m hoping to fix my knee cave issue on my squats.

For the tendonitis are you foam rolling? I had a knee problem and rolled (solid foam roller with no give to it. The soft, white ones are worthless IMO) my IT band, around the knee, inner thighs. Literally, tears in my eyes painful when I started but it got better. When I rolled on certain spots on my leg I could feel it deep in my knee…weird feeling.
giterdone, I am SO understanding of the tears-in-eyes school of foam rolling. Indeed, I rolled religiously for about two years with a hard foam roller. My ART girl asked me to stop rolling my legs while she is working on me. I can still roll my back/shoulders which I do occasionally.
Really fun training today…new and different to shake things up.
5/3/1 “Off the Reservation” Day
Pylo box jumps (it was a pretty low box)
3 x 10 jumps
Never done this before, but so fun! I got faster and more explosive as the sets progressed.
Undulation ropes
3 x 30 sec./30 sec. off
Again, first time ever. I waved the ropes pretty well, but did get better at making a nice wave pattern as the sets went on.
TRX
Lots of exercises done for 20-30 reps
Elevated pushups
Triceps Extensions
BW Rows
Shoulder I and Ys
Feet in the handles, knees to chest while facing up, facing down and facing down, side to side.
Super fun day. The workout was outside the gym on the patio with some nice sunshine to make things better. A better conditioning day than strength training day, but it was good timing as my tweaked shoulder muscle could use a little extra recovery time before hitting bench hard again.

Sounds like a cool workout. I’m having a hard time envisioning the last part though.
Maschy, I WANT TO MARRY BOX JUMPS TOO! So. fun. There were a few really good ones that I strung together, fast and explosive, that made me feel pretty darn rock-star-esque.
Grn, the last part of the TRX workout was the ab portion. It looked sort of like this:
I also pulled my knees straight into my chest, and did a similar exercise to that but just facing upwards.
Joe, yes this is with my trainer. I basically pay him to vary up my training and keep me from getting bored. There is no powerlifting/strength coach expertise in my gym so I’m rolling with what I have.
So according to my ART girl, my tweaked left shoulder is a tiny strain in my posterior deltoid with some subscap impingement. I’m not to press (bench or shoulder) until I fully feel 100%. I probably did this while SLEEPING (jeez) or maybe during my first crack at kettlebell windmills without adequately bracing my shoulder and lat.
Shoulder feels kind of beat up after she worked on it, but has generally been feeling slowly better.
Interesting about the shoulder…I’d like to see someone like that to see what they say. Mine doesn’t get twingy while I’m lifting but out of the blue when I push myself up off the floor or something…weird!
actually, benching does bother my shoulder come to think of it…I guess thats part of the reason I stopped. db bench doesn’t hurt though!
It’s weird what happens in our sleep. Go to bed perfectly fine, wake up with a sore neck or back or knee and have no idea what you did to it. I blame it on the aliens.
My tweaked left shoulder is really beginning to piss me off. Its pretty much the same as yesterday, meaning its getting better about as fast as a snail on valium (one of you wrote that recently and I’m shamelessly stealing it).
I have more and more sympathy for Snapper every day.
Luckily this is a deload week for me anyway. Today’s training is designed to work off the cannoli and noodle kugel I ate last night at the ladies’ homicide club, and the anticipated delicious Mexican dinner of tonight.
