Solid work. What’s your bodyweight now? How do you like all of the DB work? Do you think that it’s better for growth than the BB?

james

Thanks Frenchie! Sushi is nomnomnom!

James, bw is 189 right now but I’m a little softer than I’d like to be. Thick, but a little soft. I’m going to dial down into the low 180’s and see how I look. Won’t be much of a tweak.

I don’t think the BB vs DB has anything to do with growth. Over the last year, reading the Mountain dog articles and mostly anything by Meadows, along with conversations with some elite level BB’rs, I’ve found that the mind-muscle connection can play a big role in bringing up lagging parts.

That said, everyone agrees that there are times when you just need to load up a BB and do heavy ass work.

The DB work adds variety (key for me) and (potentially) additional ROM on some movements.

I’m liking the heavy inclines.

fuggin eh!

nice work on those Db’s

your chest volume is cray

Long a$$ day yesterday!

Woke up early, did cardio. Then work. Then shopping. Then lifting. Then Xmas party. Then I decided to play hockey (for the first time in 18 mos).

Then I decided to give myself some stitches and a shiner for Xmas. Nothing says tough more than squatting with stitches and a shiner on Christmas day.

Damn dude, that sucks. So how’d that happen? Did you run into the door again? Is that what she told you to say? It’s ok, you can tell us, we’re here for you.

It looks worse than it is.

Stupid high stick.

Christmas Eve SQUAT Day

Travelled to my parents this morning. Haven’t gotten a lot of sleep over the last 2 nights so I knew I couldn’t have the volume cranked up on anything. Plus I only had 60 minutes before the Y in my parent’s city closed.

Started with Lying curls and Seated Toe Press. 5 sets of a bunch.

Onto Squats.

5 x bar/135/225
3 x 275/315
1 x 365/385/405**PR

20 x 275

I could get 425 but it was a new gym and there was nobody there I trusted to spot me and the cage was iffy at best.

Finished with a bunch of single leg work on Machine Leg press.

Hips and Low back have been acting up for days so I can say I feel pretty good about killing a 405 squat.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

405 and then 20 x 275? Showoff

Have a good holiday!

275 x 20 was an ass kicker. I think i paused for breaths at reps 8, 12,15 & 18.

I now want a widow maker at 315.

Hope it was a great Christmas for you and the fam Git!

Dang, that’s an impressive squat day. You’re definitely getting stronger and stronger every session.
