James, bw is 189 right now but I’m a little softer than I’d like to be. Thick, but a little soft. I’m going to dial down into the low 180’s and see how I look. Won’t be much of a tweak.
I don’t think the BB vs DB has anything to do with growth. Over the last year, reading the Mountain dog articles and mostly anything by Meadows, along with conversations with some elite level BB’rs, I’ve found that the mind-muscle connection can play a big role in bringing up lagging parts.
That said, everyone agrees that there are times when you just need to load up a BB and do heavy ass work.
The DB work adds variety (key for me) and (potentially) additional ROM on some movements.
Damn dude, that sucks. So how’d that happen? Did you run into the door again? Is that what she told you to say? It’s ok, you can tell us, we’re here for you.

Travelled to my parents this morning. Haven’t gotten a lot of sleep over the last 2 nights so I knew I couldn’t have the volume cranked up on anything. Plus I only had 60 minutes before the Y in my parent’s city closed.
Started with Lying curls and Seated Toe Press. 5 sets of a bunch.
Onto Squats.
5 x bar/135/225
3 x 275/315
1 x 365/385/405**PR
20 x 275
I could get 425 but it was a new gym and there was nobody there I trusted to spot me and the cage was iffy at best.
Finished with a bunch of single leg work on Machine Leg press.
Hips and Low back have been acting up for days so I can say I feel pretty good about killing a 405 squat.
