Strong Enough to Correct Them

Definitely looking lean. Good work, it should be fun to watch the lean gain too!

Fudge I’m miserable…

Just saying.

So I officially feel like I’m “week’s out”.

Come 6pm I have this general “miserable” look going on. Oh the joys!

I got in tonight for some Shoulder’s bookended with Calf raises.

Session was:

A. Meadows Delt Destroyers - 5 sets --HOLY CRAP BATMAN!! Crazy way to START a session.
B. DB Laterals - 4 sets – started with Incline but they were bothering my shoulder so switched last 2 sets to standing
C. Seated Bradford Press - 3 sets
D. HS Single Arm Press - 3 sets --Seated very high so shoulder is stretched at bottom
E. 6 ways - 3 sets - yonkey’s log got me wanting to try these as finishers

I was soaked and exhausted leaving the gym tonight. Tomorrow’s check in should be a good one. I’d say 3 more weeks like this one and I’ll be peeled.

6 ways - did you laugh when you saw the blue weights?

Also in response to your current setup, hang tough brother. 21 weeks + is no mans land. I did l7 weeks last time and it sucked big time at the end. 12-16 weeks is all I want to deal with in the future. I did one month of zero carb (small salad) daily with a weekly carb refeed day and a cheatmeal. I was doing about the same amount of cardio as yourself. Soon you will be enjoying more than 1/4c of oatmeal a day. lol

I used the 10’s for the 6-ways. Reps were 13, 9, 8+3. BRUTAL.

As for the diet, yeah, I just have to stay tough through it although I did absolve myself of responsibility for what happens to the next person who calls me skinny.

I feel ya’. Hard core carb withdrawl can be BRUTAL!

You’re an a$$! LMAO

Tried this today.

Didn’t work. I’m still craving a big bowl of rice.

you don’t want to come all this way and not see your abs?

you’ve SEEN your abs before!!

would be cool to see mine someday, if only a glimmer. Maybe when I get one of those jobby jobs(one that pays money) I’ll hire myself a trainer…

Your doing well!!

oh and I wanted to commiserate with nagging body parts. I have a shoulder/elbow combo of inflammation going on and it SUCKS.

And anything involving bending the knees is out(as you’ve read)

So hang in there!! Do what you can when you can.

Remind me again…veggies don’t count as your carbs right? How high are fats??

Hey MiM-kins!!

I’m hanging in there (as are my clothes now…literally HANGING).

Veggies do not count but my veggies are all green right now; asparagus, broccoli and spinach/lettuce.

I would say I am just north of 50g of fat (most coming from almond butter) split over 4 meals. So I am somewhere around 1700kcal/day.

picture shows a lovely hip crease, nice chest definition and a showing of abs to come.

lookin good ddot but will your diet make you this miserable once you are at maintenance?

Thanks nl!

I’m not sure I’m going to be in any form of maintenance anytime soon. It’s either UP or DOWN for me for the foreseeable future.

I’ve actually been pretty good diet wise/mood wise until about 3 weeks ago. That was the 17 week mark so it’s just mental drain. Most of my ‘whining’ on here is in good humour and that probably doesn’t always come across through ‘posts’.

Love your photos!

Weekend Update

Friday night I got in to train Arms. I’ll spare the details but it was medium volume, sets of 8-10 with focus on squeezing each rep.

Saturday was an off day but I made it an active rest day and went in for 35 minutes and did some abs (HLR’s, ab wheel rollouts, cable crunches). I also threw in some heavy DB rear laterals swings. I need to bring my shoulders up so I’ll be doing some delt work most days as part of warm up or active rest.

Saturday night consisted of a relatively clean cheat meal (shared some nacho’s with a buddy and had steak/rice) before hitting the TiCat/Argo football game (CFL for you American’s).

Sunday was another leg session.

A1. Laying Ham Curls - 4 x 10
A2. Seated Calf Raise - 4 x 8-10
B. Leg Press - 5 x 8
C. Skwats w/ Bands - 3 x 15
D. DB RDL’s - 2 x 10
E. Hack’s - 3 x 20
F. Extensions to finish

I’m going to drop the volume on leg day next week and maybe just do some squats and leave. That session kicked my a$$. Felt nauseous at least three times somewhere between the squats and hack’s.

Cardio has been on target. 50 min each and every morning.

My Monday is better than someone’s Monday story: Leaving the gym this morning after cardio and the front desk girl walks out two minutes before me. When I get outside she tells me some woman pulled up in a car and proceeded to leave a bunch of boxes/bag’s at the front door. It appears to be all men’s clothing leading us to believe someone just got booted from wherever they live. My Monday is better than someone else’s Monday.

My abs are in the same place as unicorns and area 51.

I see your chugging right along. Sorry I missed it but when is your show? Pretty soon right? I looked around your thread but a admittedly have not read all 20 pages yet.

No show planned just yet DJS.

Next year sometime. Just getting myself back into the “groove” so that when I do decide, it’s a big hill not a mountain to climb.

Thanks for your response on the length of your sessions.

Careful now Joe. Don’t be telling people about the unicorns in area 51 who get leaner, bigger and stronger at the same time.

My abs are in the same place as unicorns and area 51.

Ok, random post.

On dieting + moods: I have a bit of a backwards relationship between my energy levels and my moods right now. On a personal level I find Sunday’s to be pretty tough (mentally) right now. It’s always been a wind down kind of family day for me and that part of life is absent right now. Conversely I have energy and feel less irritable on Sundays. Fast forward to Thursday and I feel beat up (in total state of ketosis) but emotionally I tend to be better as I generally have stuff planned for the weekend (Friday + Saturday). Hopefully this mixed up emotional state vs eating thing doesn’t morph into a negative Pavlov reaction to food once I can eat carbs again.

On trainers: Ok, so I’ve joined a new “box” gym. The trainers there are not the greatest. It appears the free session being offered to new members is being conducted by what appears to be the Head of Sales. It’s bad. He re-enforces bad motor patterns which is a huge no no in my books.

On offering advice: I’ve stopped. I fight every urge to do so now. I tried to make a suggestion to two guys (intermediate/advanced lifter) and got a death stare so never again. Please continue with your rounded back deadlifts while watching yourself in the mirror to your left.

Brain spill complete. That’s it for now. Back to regular scheduled programming.

PS: I could use 4 months off work. Just saying.

I don’t want advice, so I don’t offer advice.

If someone asks, and they seem sincere, I’ll talk.
