I absolutely love his stuff, man. He has plenty of workouts on his YouTube you can just jump into and a free program on this site. Once you get his framework down, obviously you can sub in whatever moves you like.
I find I consistently get stronger on his stuff without a bunch of aches and pains, and I just think the workouts are fun. Even when I try to do other stuff, I can’t venture away for long.
Alright, saw mention of this in @TrainForPain’s log and had to come see what it was.
What’s the split like? I get the feeling that Meadows does bro splits so everything gets annihilated once a week…especially after I tried a his Old School Back session that I saw on YouTube. It wasn’t a ton, but it’s a lot for me to do twice a week - especially during my short sessions during my lunch break at work.
And hack squats are dumb. I always felt like my patellar tendon was going to snap on the old school ones. I’ve seen newer ones but I don’t like the loading on them, either. You want to develop your legs? Do single leg stuff that actually resembles human movement. Lunges, split squats, etc.
People might snicker at my squat, but no one laughs when you’re doing two plates on Bulgarian split squats.
Was tough going trying to get all the workouts in. Need to work harder on springing out of my bed at 5.30am.
Doesn’t help when my toddler wakes up in the middle of night, crying .
The pumps I was getting were ridiculous.
Some of the sets were painful. I’m slowly getting into the whole bodybuilding thing. Keeping the kcals consistent and resisting temptation for the most part.
Going to drop 100 kcals as I feel like I’m stabilising.
