Stress on rest days

For those that train for mental health reasons, what do you do on rest days that are stressful? When the DOMS are raging and something’s ticking you off, what do you do?

I do easy cardio or go for a long walk

good for recovery and stress relief

Realize no one cares how you feel and one day you’ll be dead.

Literally the best advice my father used to give me. “Who cares?”

In the past on rest days id fish. Still get light cardio on the kayak or walking in the woods. Nice to get away from everything and just be.

Chainsmoke and listen to music in the car lol

I look at what part of me is offended. My ego? My sense of safety? My desire for financial security?

I also try to understand that if something can be done, is it my job to do it? Maybe it is, maybe it ain’t.

Slight derail. How tf do people justify the PRICE of cigarettes? I bought my first pack last week (made a store run and a coworker asked me to grab him some), and i legitimately had no idea how much they cost. It’s was like $12 before tax, which was like another 3 bucks!

My grandfather smoked a pack and a half a day. Granted he passed years ago, but that’s still like $20 a day for smokes. I had no idea it was that expensive.

(You know, besides the other cigarette stuff)

Gas stations rob the hell of you. I never grab cigarettes there. You need to find a small local smoke shop that sells obscure brands.

I get a pack for 5$, Nashville 100s. They are fucking bomb.

Nicotine baby, we love our chemicals :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:I can’t say shit because I do go through like half a pack a day. It’s not helping me in any way at all.

Nicotine has DEEEP hooks man. I’ve used, become addicted to and quit all of the fun stuff (pre-meth) but nicotine is still the king.

Just a little whiff on the breeze from a few houses away can tickle that spot in my brain that says “Hey! How bout you go get one of those!”. To which I reply “cuz that will definitely put you down this time.”.

Maybe it’s just me. I chewed tobacco for 10 years, then switched to nicotine pouches for another 4. I get the draw… but shit that kinda money would have me rethinking a lot of habits lol

Chew never gave me the same type of craving either. I think with smoking its that quick hit that really sinks it in. Chew is a little more slow & steady.

But smoking, that first hit of the day/starting the car/with a sip of coffee, etc. is really something.

For a lot of people its hard to quit because of the habit associated with the habit. It needs to be disassembled.
