Steroids: Is 19-20 Too Young?

Hi I’m 19 and I’m considering using steroids, something my brother is trying to talk me out of. The one reason he has suggested I avoid it at least for now is because I am still a teenager technically (I’m 19 currently, 20 at the start of October) which he believes means that using steroids could permanently upset my natural hormone output even once off the gear.

The steroid I am looking at purchasing is Sustanon 250. He has said that sources on a number of websites including this one brought him to this conclusion. Does anyone have any articles/sources that support this claim? I appreciate also your personal opinions of whether or not this is safe (ie. if it made me bald when I was 30 I wouldn’t care, if it fucked up my testosterone production forever I would).

If it helps at all with regard to what might be going on with my hormones as a teenager I had mild acne when I was younger (13-16 now gone completely with no medication) and went through big height changes during the same age range (kept growing a little until about 17 1/2 when I stopped) but now I have come to a stop at 178cm (5 ft 10 approx). I have been going to the gym for about 1.25 years now, put on about 8kg of lean mass in that time.

you’ve been working out for 1.25 years?

I second this. Depending on your efficiency, you may still have newbie gains to make. Post max lifts and while you will be shat on, people will well explain why this is a VERY bad idea. I’m also 20, have somewhat considered steroids, ultimately concluding I should wait for two reasons:

A: I am still making great gains when eatings in a caloric surplus (despite 5+ years of consistent, even if originally inefficient/stupid, training)
B: don’t want issues with testosterone when I am older.

A better request would be a critique of your current workout routine. If you don’t have a set routine, then seriously gtfo…

Biggest problem has been increased amount of fat over the last 8 months and not gaining muscle as much as I used to (tried to lose fat and then regain muscle but didn’t lose much fat at all, 2kg max, have tried to restart bulking since March but I haven’t seen any real changes so convinced that any gains at the moment are mostly fat).

think you may be over doing it if these are all done in 3 consecutive days… doing chest bis & tries isnt bad alone but then back and shoulders the following day means you are again hitting tri’s and bi’s… followed by days 3 where you hit them all directly again… cool it on the arms… over training will make you smaller and weaker which means fatter.

try not hitting anything that is a secondary muscle the day before or following a major group. for example, dont do bi’s the day before back where they are being hit, or vice versa. Spread your muscles out over the week. try a 4 day split like chest, back, off, legs/shoulders, arms, off, off on the chest day hit a few light burn out sets 2 or 3 of tris if you must…same for back and bi’s just to get a pump.

again make suer your hitting your target muscles by using good form… if not you may not even be hitting your chest and only tri’s same with back and shoulders… i believe everyone here probably made those mistakes at the start of their workout career.

use good form… will help you grow, help prevent injuries, and help you not look like the dumbass throwing weights around (not saying you are but you maybe with onlya year of training) good luck

work harder

Wait till you’re at least 23. Only because you don’t want you’re growth plates to get stunned, and you haven’t been training for long. Experiment with other supplements? I’m 17 ad roids haven’t come to my mind. I mean, the recommended age for doing roids is 21…But me personally, would wait till you’re 30 years of age. That’s when you’re test actually goes down. All the dicks on this website told me too eat more if i want too get bigger, and those dicks were right. Completely right. You’re a newbie, do things newbies do.

You are wise beyond your years

dude 19/20 is too young in most cases and urs in one of them. I started AAS when I was 19 though… but by then i had 5 years of training under my belt, 300lb bench, 450 dead,400 squat and was eating upwards to 6 meals a day. Theres no set “age” per say but around age 21 is usually when someone would get to this type of level to even think of AAS i just got there sooner. Better to wait and then cash in ur ace card man. get to 200lbs on ur own then give it a try
