Bury it deep in Death Valley in dense encasements. No humans can live there anyway.

No dummy. It’s using the same logic you frequently use to show you the asinine aspects of your “argument”.

Also, you avoided the part where I called out your “intention matters” bullshit where it only applies to what you believe it should apply to.

So, bury it in the low point of the continent where water cannot drain out where a huge lake once was 10,000 years ago, and where there is a long history of seismic activity.

Yikes.

Yeah all of that can be mitigated against. No solution is perfect.
Why would you water to drain through a nuclear dump site? The current ones are built water tight anyway.

At this point in time there is no other “clean” way to meet the power demands of the world. Hydroelectric damns cause their own problems (look up three gorges damn in China). Solar is not efficient enough and the best places for efficient wind turbines are far from major metro areas (the best place in the country is in northwest Iowa/southeast South Dakota) - which means significant line loss to get it to where it’s actually needed.

I’ll just say you’re wrong about the first paragraph with little understanding of the timescales, geology or toxicity involved. It’s in my field of expertise, and oddly through my partner, I know of specific instances where you’d be shown to be wrong.

But regardless, I do agree that nuclear is the best near term option and way more fossil fuel subsidies should be given toward advancing the already rapidly advancing reactor technology, IMO. The tech in use now is ancient and it’s advancement has been stunted by fear… But there are tons of promising low waste, super safe reactor tech being beta tested on small scales right now. And if they can start making fusion happen on a larger scale… Now we’re talking!

in the nuclear power plant business for 34 years

the spent fuel rods are removed from the spent fuel rod pool and placed in a steel cylinder and transported to a steel and concrete mauseleum onsite and it is secured and well protected

as for your stupid question of it being dangerous…everything in life is dangerous

Yeah no one is funding research into this like they should. A lot of those small scale reactors look super promising.

I will concede your point about me being wrong. I know much more about wind power (part of my field as an aerospace engineer - studied it in college). I don’t see a sustainable future without significant nuclear investment (I think you and I are in agreement here).

To what degree? Stupid.

There are numerous storage facilities leaking all across the USA, with numerous ongoing lawsuits. And that’s in the USA let alone ex Soviet block, and other nuclear countries with less than stellar environmental/construction standards.

Trump has secured the punk vote!

Imagine asking Johhny Rotten about Trump’s “rudeness”… these people are so fucking daft

Where is the line? You seem to believe all transactions that you don’t deem fair are coercive. Can you define the line at which transactions are castoli-approved?

The word was “obnoxiousness” but same difference.

Yeah that lady must not be familiar with Lydon, what a stupid fucking question.

Does it make people suffer and sometimes even die(U.S. 'healthcare")all for profits? That would be a line. I realize this is only 1 example, so it is not exhaustive.

She said “rudeness” at one point but still… tone deaf slag

Give an example of something to which that applies. This is why everyone treats you like a joke: you say stuff like “make” even when that’s not remotely applicable.

Yeah you’re right,she did.
He should get the ol’ gang together and thrash the Good Morning Britain set. Maybe have Steve Jones call Piers a ‘‘dirty fucker’’ for old times’ sake.
Just for the lulz.

Agreed. We should have shifted decades ago.

Also agree. Pebble-Bed Reactors would be amazing if we decided to redo the US power grid.

Fast Neutron Reactors?

That made me laugh.
