So I’ve been on TRT for about 3 years.
I started at a clinic, and now have prescribed test through a Urologist.
Since stopping the clinic. I now have much more freedom to dial in. I’m prescribed 10 ml vials. So I can adjust my own dose and frequency now.
I have been battling Cystic Acne as my number one side effect. Which I have eliminated by changing dose and frequency.
I used to take 100mg test 200mg/ml per week approximately .25ml twice a week.
I was breaking out in serious cystic acne.
So now I’m being prescribed 100mg/ml test. I pin .30ml every 3 days now. So instead of 50mg twice a week. I inject 30mg every three days.
My last test came back 559 total about 12 hours before my next injection.
I can feel that I’m right at the edge of being low. I always get lower back pain when my T is low.
So my question is about frequency and dose.
Would it be better to pin every 2 days? Or up my 3 day dose? This is testosterone cypionate. I’m concerned 2 day injections are too often for that ester. Is that a problem?
It doesn’t matter really. You could pin daily and you’d be fine; most people are fine with once or twice per week.
I’m low SHBG and I run MWF but have also done EOD and I notice little to no difference.
It’s 100mg every 7 days to 90 every 9 days.
It’s a bigger difference than it seems, and makes a huge difference in my cystic acne. One thing I’ve learned is that if I inject more than 40mg at a time. My skin gets much oiler, and the acne follows.
I know back pain/ low T seems suspect, but it’s like clockwork for me. I came off to get a prescription. It was very obvious. The lower my T the weaker my back.
So the ester doesn’t matter regarding frequency?
Another concern I have is the type of testosterone. At the clinic I took 200mg/ml from a compounding pharmacy. Now that I have prescription. It’s 100mg/ml and it’s name brand…
I understand how the concentration works regarding dosage. But do these manufacturers make the same test? Same quality? Accurate concentration?
I also noticed the carrier oil must be different because the name brand is clear, and compound pharmacy was tan.
When did you make this change? It may not be too low just your body adjusting. Give it time don’t chase it. I had to lower and my percent was 21% or so and it was not fun. I’m on a little less than you, 63 mg/wk. I may need to go a little lower or maybe a little higher but I am going to wait until I have a full 8 weeks and gets levels taken. I probably have a narrow range too so it is not crazy to think 10 to 20 mg differences don’t affect some of us.
You may be right there…
It’s been about 30 days since I made this change. I’ll give it another week or two.
It nice to know that there are people who are as sensitive to small dose changes as I think I am…
That why I mentioned that the clinic gave me 200mg/ml test. It’s twice as concentrated, and they certainly did not fill every shot exactly the same. With 200mg/ml three drops can be more than you think. So with that being said Im absolutely sure I’m giving myself a much more stable dose using 100mg/ml.
I’m also not so sure the compounding lab made every batch of testosterone exactly the same. I’m much happier with 100mg/ml name brand. It’s consistent.
