Starting T Cypionate Again

I’ve posted a few times and have received good info. My question is when and what should I lab test when I start the T Cypionate.

Quick background:
45yr old guy
Have taken T before. It brought back healthy erections and restored sensitivity to the point of actually feeling turned on.
I did have some slight gynecomastia when taking it.
Dr gave me .50mg Anastrozole to take once per week to help that. Thanks for the info from @Systemlord about that.

I’m going to start the at home injection tomorrow. 100mg once per week. I’ll maintain the gym 3 days week. Does anyone recommend any other supplements? I just take D 1000iu for low D. I read somewhere that fish oil was wise to take while on T as it can help prevent the blood from becoming too thick? Is this true and would you recommend it?

Any info is appreciated. I’ve done some reading but the guys on this site seem very well informed and I am reading closely.

About six-eight weeks in:

Total test
Free test
E2
CBC
VitD (in your case as you were low and supplementing, it may not be enough)

Depending on response, maybe in another three to four months, but probably every six months after that:

Lipids
CMP
CBC
total test
free test
E2
SHBG
VitD (if it was still low)
PSA

Labs always taken on injection day.

Fish oil is a good supplement for almost anybody.

I would NOT recommend .5 anastrozole, cut the pill up into quarters or better yet crush it into powder and take a small portion until you know how you react. If you tolerate it well, try 1/4 of a pill.

Normally I would recommend a dosage not be changed for 10 days, this is how long it takes for anastrozole to reach a stable state.

Don’t go overboard, keep it simple, essentials only (fish oil, vitamins etc.). Don’t be changing stuff during the first 6 weeks. If you get to a point where you are ready to pull your hair out, change one thing at a time.

An example, if you think you’ve crushed estrogen, don’t decrease your AI and your TRT dosage.

Ok, crush the Anastrozole into quarters. And still take that smaller dose “once per week?“

Yes once weekly for a minimum of 2 and a half weeks and it would be great if you could keep everything unchanged until you redo labs at 6 weeks.

Fish oil is great. it has some good health benefits. It’s hard to stay consistent on it because of the price and you don’t really feel anything from taking it.

Vitamin D is also very important, maybe more so than fish oil. Most men need a minimum of 2000iu/day d3. Doses up to 15000/day d3 are safe. I personally take 5000/day just to be on the low normal range.

My D was 21.6 with a range of 30-80. About 5 yrs ago it was an 8. So with 1000iu per day I got to 21.6. Maybe I should bump it up to 2000iu

I asked the dr which brand had the best absorption and she said Nordic Naturals. It’s fairly expensive. She also told me it supports T. And every dr I ask has a different answer to what should my D level be. One said 35 another says 50.

At least. You can also mega load and take 50,000iu once a week for a couple months.

I’m assuming that’s prescription only? For one capsule.

Yes. You want triglyceride form of fish oil. Nordic naturals is exactly that. I take the liquid because it’s much cheaper than the pills.

Yes, or you can dose that with over the counter pills.

I’ll look into the liquid. And I could barely get my dr to give me a prescription for Zyrtec, so I think I’ll have to bundle capsules for D. Until I find a new dr that is.

Luckily D3 is sold over the counter and is very inexpensive.

@guy45
I use the Now brand 5,000iu Vit D3 and it works great and is cheap. I also use either Carlson’s The Very Finest Fish Oil or Nordic Naturals liquid. I use Amazon brand Vit C 1000mg (I take 2). Solgar methylcobalamin 1000mcg sublingual B12, bulk supplements powder magnesium glycinate (400-600mg), SR vitamin K2 mk-7 and Natrol melatonin fast dissolve.

I use Kion essential amino acids as well.

Melatonin at night only obviously. How many MG? And b-12 sublingual is better absorbed or just absorbed faster? I was getting the b12 gummies but I think there’s sugar in those

B-12 should be sublingual or a shot, the other forms are largely ineffective.

@guy45
Yes melatonin 2.5mg (half a 5mg tablet) at night with the magnesium glycinate. Does wonders for sleep.

The methylated version of B12 sublingually taken daily is akin to getting B12 injections. Regular B12 did nothing to raise my levels while methylcobalamin keeps them at the top of the range. Far superior and keeps my energy high but not in a caffeine type of way. Just good clean energy and good sense of well-being.

I’m going to try that melatonin combo. I can’t sleep thru the night without a supplement. And I refuse ambien. I’ve been doing melatonin 5mg gnc. I get to sleep initially but wake up 3-4 hrs later and feel like shit the next morning. I miss a good night’s sleep.

I mean T helps me feel more balanced in the middle of the day. But it does nothing to help
me sleep. And I didn’t expect it to.
