Starting a Bulking Cycle

taking universal real gains, ON casein, Opti-mens, FOOD.
Food generally chicken, tuna, sweet potatoes, yogurt, wheat tortillas with ham/turkey cottage cheese, etc.

Anyhow I gained about 20 pounds last summer on some GNC gainer protein, and then I was kinda stuck at 157 lbs for a long time. I’d like to get up to around 175. It seems like my stomach is the only thing growing though.

How often are you eating? What does your macro breakdown look like? When are you taking in your carbs?

What does your training schedule look like? You seem to have a good base to build off of, from this limited pic.

yea h what does ur trainging look like

If your gut is growing you might think about putting your carbs in better times. also think about adding sprints.

sprints I can do. Can you tell me what macro breakdown is ?

training I am currently doing
( on seperate days)

chest, back, legs, shoulders/traps, arms

with usually two ab days per week. I have several injuries and imbalances I am working to correct as well (a/c joint injury) which caused one of my shoulders to be lower then the others, I have weak/tight hamstrings and serratus anterior muscles ( i have alot of trouble with say, a dumbell pullover) Also I have trouble with getting a full ROM on single arm bicep curls.

any help would be appreciated, thank you guys.

Macro nutrients= grams of protein, fat and carbs. I’m just wondering how clean your bulk diet was, since you only grew in your belly.

As far as your training, it would help if you posted the exercises with set/rep schemes for each training day, chest, back, etc.

If the only thing thats growing is your stomach, its because you are ingesting/soring more calories than you are using.ie your getting fat.Eating doesnt make muscles grow.Hard,no sorry thats wrong VERY hard training makes muscles grow.Extra calories are only of benefit if your stimulating growth(unless your juiced)Train harder ,and cut back on the food.dont think your eating enough? how many calories in a kilo of muscle? find out and then do the math, how many calories do you REALLY need.Good luck

this is all very confusing. I appreciate the effort though guys.

why does this guy have a 4.5 rating

are u suggesting 4.5 is too low or too high?

Im not very good at math, i have problems focusing on things so complicated things like keeping track of the percentages of everything I eat is difficult for me. I made this post so hopefully i could get advice, frankly i dont really care if i’m rated a “1” im not doing this for anyone except myself.

whitedime, you need to be more specific in your diet and training if you want to get any advice.

oh well. thanks anyway guys.

20lb over one summer is insane growth, so a lot of that must be fat. You don’t have too much further to go to hit 170lb, and I’m certain you’ll get there with a protein-rich diet and a good routine. You just have to be patient, nobody gets huge overnight.

Except maybe Greg Valentino.
