Started PCT Need Advice

Hi everyone,

I have posted on here a while back about stopping TRT but never stopped. So I finally did decide to stop taking it for personal reasons.
I was on 100mg of testosterone cypionate for 8 months. I have been off for 11 days and using 500 units of hcg 3x weekly. I was going to use hcg for two weeks total. My doctor also prescribed me clomid which I’m hesitant to take because I’ve heard people on here say how horrible the side effects are.
My doctor prescribed me 50mg 3x week for two weeks then drop down to 25mg 3x a week for two more weeks.
Does that sound like a reasonable approach for a PCT? If I decided to take clomid I would start next Monday so about a little over two weeks after my last testosterone cypionate injection which was September 29th.
I definitely can feel the fatigue and mood changes from stopping TRT.
Any advice from someone who has good knowledge would be appreciated.
Thanks!

It does to me, ive even stopped cold turkey before with very few side effects.

Also done the HCG and Clomid approach successfully.

Clomid doesnt upset everyone, had no effect on me other than the desired one :+1:

Thanks for the reply. How long were you on trt? I heard most people take clomid daily but my doctor only prescribed it for 3 days a week.

Cold turkey after 18 months (1st TRT run)

9 months 2nd time and then HCG/Clomid

Couple pointers to discuss with your doc. One, you need to wait for Test Cyp to clear your body before starting your SERM (Clomid). This would be about 3.5-4 weeks for mostly clear. You can take HCG up until that time. Once you start the SERM, the HCG should stop as it is slightly suppressive. Make sense? Make sure thats all good with the Doc and best of luck.

Thank you for the advice. I was a bit confused about when it fully clears from my body. I’ve heard some people say 2 week and some say longer.

5 half lives is a good guide.

6 - 8 weeks Cyp should be completely gone.

I thought the higher the dose the longer it takes to come out of your system like if someone was on 500mg then a week later they are at 250mg. Since I was on 100 mg weekly wouldn’t it be cleared in two weeks?

No chance, it had an accumulative effect and builds up in your body.

Think of the half life, so 100mg with a 10 day half life still has a significant amount left in your blood at day 7.

You re inject and build it up again.

There is a maximum peak of course

Anyway, don’t overthink it, let it wash out as your Doc has advised and dont attribute every little thing you feel to ‘low test’. Probably isn’t

True! It’s easy to over think it when I want to feel better soon as possible. I’ve been feeling lack of motivation, my mood is low. Today is day 12 no testosterone.

Why did you get on TRT to begin with?
What was your Total Testosterone before TRT?
What was your Total Testosterone on 100mgs/wk testosterone cypionate?

I got on trt because I had my hormone panel done at a urologist and my total testosterone was 373 and my free testosterone was 9. The urologist said I didn’t need to be on it and my levels were fine. I am 41 and in amazing shape, I work out 5 days a week. So in my head I thought that’s really low so I was dumb and went to a local testosterone clinic/mill that easily prescribed it but at to high of a dose. I was started on 150mg weekly. Eventually 3 months later I met with the urologist and he told me to stop so I tried but felt like crap do he eventually prescribed it and said he rather monitor me and lowered my dose and said he would like me to get off it eventually. His concern was also if I wanted kids in the future. My levels on trt on trough day were around 600 and my free was around 15.

Actually here is a photo of my labs prior to starting trt.

I know I’m ‘newbie’ at this board. This is even my very first post, but:

Yeah, of course quantity matters when it comes to when you should start your PCT - since as you just pointed out yourself, it gets ‘cleared’ faster the lower amounts you have taken.
With low doses (1-200mg/w), I’ve understood that they usually wait 3-4 ‘half-times’ (which in the case of Enanthate would be like 14-18 days…or, 2-3 weeks…I know that Decanoate has a slightly longer half-life, so don’t know the most common time to start PCT after that ester though…
But, if I’ve not done hCG in that ‘meantime’ [the wait between last shot of T and first day of using SERM(s)], I have also ‘successfully’ been going on a “kinda’” ‘gut-feeling’. That is, in AROUND the time between 2-4 weeks, you feel like you’ve “crashed” as much as you can take: start the SERM(s)…usually, if not almost alway that has been 50mg of Clomid/day for 4, sometimes 5 or 6 weeks. And, I’ve ‘come out’ just fine at the other end.
Last time I had taken Test E, 2-300mg/w (TRT, almost, perhaps?) for about 6 months: I started hCG day after last T-shot at 500iu/EOD for 3 weeks, then took Clomid 50mg/day for 4 weeks - and I hardly lost anything. And also - didn’t feel shitty! -So, that’s my ‘new preferred’ “coming off T schedule” [‘even’ though I still had both Arimidex as well as Nolva at hand, should I’ve needed them - always have everything you COULD need in hand BEFORE you ‘go off’. At least that’s my 2 cents.].
