I suck complete balls at SC against other players online, but I’m desperately looking forward to the campaign and some human vs cpu battles with some friends. Like the original, SC2 looks to be just oozing goddamn quality from every pore. Epic sound design FTW!

A dev team has finally cracked the SCII Beta to be played offline and alone (create buildings and units). They are currently working on playing against AI and hopefully a cracked server for multiplayer. I will keep you guys posted.

I think you have to be accepted into the Beta.
“Note: you must have a Battle.net account with StarCraft 2 beta access to play this. The beta will be unplayable if you have not been accepted into the SC2 beta.”
Can anyone confirm or deny this ^^

To be able play in the Online Closed beta on Bnet, YES, you Must be invited. However, you still can download and install the game.
A Dev. team has just released a launcher that loads the game in sand box mode meaning you can build buildings and units. However, You cannot play against the computer yet. This is the next best thing to playing the game ie testing the units and how they work etc…
They are now working on creating AI (playing against computer) and emulating a server for multiplayer
