Stand Up Comedy

May I post this as it is very very funny?

Steve Martin is talented, but I don’t think I can forgive him for shitting all over Peter Sellers’ grave with the Pink Panther film.

Oh, ya, man, let’s do this.

No Dane Cook fans? Man…Cedric the Entertainer is pretty funny too.

Ricky is hilarious. His HBO special had me rolling for the whole hour.
See, now THAT’s funny. That other guy isn’t on the same level.

Much of this comes down to delivery…and way too many British, English comedians seem to lack this.

Find the skit he did for Johnny Carson. The Handkerchief trick. If you find it you will forgive him.

People tell me I look like Ricky Gervais.

Does that somehow sound like I’m bragging because dammit I really wish I didn’t look like him. Or don’t. “Didn’t” sounds so final.

Early stand-up, genius. Work on SNL, genius. Man with Two Brains, the Jerk, PT&A’s, L.A. Story, Roxanne, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, genius. Best Oscars host ever. I still laugh at his cameo here:

I don’t think Billy Connolly has been mentioned. He’s a funny dude. I’d post a video, but work blocks all the good stuff.

Jimmy Carr is my absolute favourite comedian.

Two full pages already… and this gives me immense satisfaction in the intelligence and taste of T-Nation… that nobody said Larry the Cable Guy.

Then again, nobody here is in 8th grade.

Run along and buy a Michael McIntyre DVD, you juvenile, thick cunt. Wait, I think I hear someone arguing with X in another thread, you’d better get hurry over there and sort them out.
Not so sophisticated now are we?

Of ones I have already seen posted…

Bill Maher
George Lopez
Bill Engvall
Bob Newhart
Christopher Titus (from the Fox series “Titus”)
Daniel Tosh
Dennis Miller
Harland Williams
Kathy Griffin
Lisa Lampanelli
Lewis Black
Patton Oswalt

Since people have started talking about british comics, Frankie Boyle is my favourite at the moment.

AndWhen I get back to byu, I’ll be in their standup group

Agreed.

His show isn’t all that great, but I love his stand-up.

Dave Chappelle
Pablo Francisco
Mitch Hedburg
Patton Oswalt
Chris Rock
Bill Burr
Louis CK
Nick Swardson
Dice Clay
Eddie Murphy
Richard Pryor
Bill Cosby

I’m sure there are others that I’m forgetting. I agree with the"A lot of English comedians lack delivery" crowd. I also really dislike black comedians whose entire set is basically “bash whitey” for 1/2 an hour. There was a guy on Comedy Central 1/2 an hour ago who did that and I changed the channel. Also, I don’t think there’s any really good female stand-up comics. Wanda Sykes has some funny stuff, but it’s in bits and pieces. Sarah Silverman is awful. I have no idea how she’s famous.

Come back when you have an opinion worth considering, cheers.
