If this is your definition of “monster” you need to find a better gym to train at.
Since when is doing over 500 lb deadlifts for multiple reps and sets not awesome? The dude must weigh at least 280 easily. I call him Hulk for a laugh.
I wouldn’t consider 500 lb deadlifts anything out of the normal, especially for someone 280. I mean hell tonight I put up 480 for 5 (should of been 6 or 7 if I’d had more then 1000 calories all day before I got to the gym) and I only weigh 180 and I’m nothing special. If he was 280 and deadlifting 700+ then I’d say beastly.

After my 3 plates per side shameless benchpress plug you go ahead and lay this shit on us… That’s how you roll? Lol

I have to agree… Since when is deadlifting less than 2xBW a beastly feat of strength?

Goddammit we know!
*Ninny feels good about a deadlift PR
*Ninny sees hungry mention something happen during one of his warmup sets heavier than ninny’s max
*Ninny is sad
Lol. But seriously though. While you aren’t 100% beastmode yet, you definitely will be once you can bulk as hard as you want. /ball massage

fucking kid at mine keeps yelling during his last few reps like if lex steele is trying to rape his asshole whether hes benching 135 or doing curls…
I am guilty of this. Did 210lbs x 10 front squat; numbers that are considered pretty fucking weak, especially on here.
Reps 9 & 10 were accompanied by a very loud and completely involuntary scream / roar. I had my headphones in so only heard the second one but was told by my training partner there were two (and the second must have been really fucking loud as I was playing slipknot full blast through noise isolating earphones and still heard it).
I was tempted to shout out “sorry about that” but I was embarrassed. I must have sounded a complete tit, and I’m sure anyone looking at the bar after hearing it must have just shaken their head in disappointment.
P.S. Have to jump on the “SolidKhalid is a bellend” bandwagon. I could probably have let most of your antics go; but the slipping plates off of peoples bars is just plain silly mate. You gotta quit doing that kind of shit. Keep throwing peoples deserted drinks bottles in the bin though, I do that too if they are left long enough.

Singular of calves is calf.
Calve just means to give birth to a calf (as in a baby cow or whale) or to split a large mass of ice.

I was pulling over 500lbs at age 18. It’s not that impressive.
Edit: That was also around 220lbs. If anything, pulling only around 500lbs whilst weighing 280lbs is pretty darn shitty to be honest.

Don’t worry, H4M pulls sumo, so it doesn’t count. He even tried to corrupt me on the PL forum with his sinful bastardization of God’s most perfect lift.

I just remembered this one:
Guy doing curls while staring at a big guy benching. Everytime the big guy racks the bar and sits, the other guy stares at him and starts smiling. This lasts until the big guy is at his last set, he’s obviously annoyed by now, so he yells “WHAT ?”. The other guy says nothing for a while and then lets go a soft “You’re so strong.”
Everyone in the vicinity moved to the other side of the gym
LOL! How much was the guy benching anyway?
Over 300 pounds I think, one of the few people in my gym that know their shit when it comes to training.
I’ve noticed that whenever you load up 3 plates on bench people tend to watch. I know the few times I’ve done it I get a few stares
(^^shameless plug for my semi good bench press number lol ![]()
You know when see you a hot chick, with short shorts and doing RDLs or squats right in front of you ?
Right. That’s how the other dude was staring at guy benching.

I find it pretty normal to make a good deal of noise on the last reps of a set when front squatting…has to do with the bar restricting your breathing.
And as I think everyone gathered…and was already mentioned…a [not even] 2x bw deadlift doesn’t qualify as monster by any means, that’s just silly. “Weak”, no, but not monstrous, unless I guess you live in Europe.

Now I feel bad for the guy benching, that must have been really uncomfortable for him.

I remember the thread about finding a good gym to train in NYC. Im not trying to be a dick here, but seeing your lifts posted on this thread I find it hard to believe that your one of the strongest at your gym unless that gym is a Lucille Roberts.
I train at a dreaded commercial gym, LA Fitness in Staten Island and have a shit ton more people in there stronger than me and my lifts are nothing special but much better than yours. I just dont see how you could be one the strongest guys in your gym…so what gym are you training at?
Also just because you know the proper way to lift and are supposedly stronger than someone doesent mean that someone wont wild out and beat the fuck out of you performing a very dangerous action on top of trying to embarrass said person.
But thank you for letting my afternoon fly by at work.
Also I read that Upright Rows are a no-no in the squat rack? Fuck color me guilty.
I’m at Dolphin now. Don’t worry I’m not lookin’ at your post as you being a dick.
NP with the afternoon help!
Its not upright rows I’m doing, its bent-over rows. I thought you read my lifts?
Another poster said that Upright rows are a no no in the SR, not you.
Which Dolphin? I am curious because I from time to time train at a few dolphin fitness’ around NY.
