as of 2 days ago I would have said the same thing.
We have a new crossfit guy in the gym. Obviously new. He runs, no sprints, to the water fountain after every set. He was doing some DL, OH press thing yesterday, My back was screaming NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! He is new so I will give him some slack. Today he was hopping from cardio machine to cardio machine every 5 minutes. I saw him on the eliptical, bike, treadmill, and rowing machine.

never heard of cardio-confusion? It’s so powerful - not everyone can handle it
There’s a guy who consistently attempts to talk to me at the gym. Problem is, other than the fact that I’m not there to make friends and pick up a convo, we don’t speak the same language.
I think it reduces the pains of guilt when I film his lifting shenanigans.

You say that now, but just wait until you find yourself in a bo staff fight with that guy during a severe earthquake. You’re fucked mate.

Or bamboo stalks, or those like upright wooden stepping stone things that they always use in Kung-Fu movies. Bosu Ball training is like 69% of the reason these Martial Arts assassins are so good at killing people all the time.
I caught a guy in the squat rack doing curls today. My gym is going downhill really fast.
I did see that his arms were really developed. Then he walks away. That is when I noticed his biceps were bigger than his quads. I could only chuckle. Then he did some ab work then went to the benches and did some more db curls.

Honestly, my gym is not terrible, but it seems more and more people are not only doing stupid things, but rude things like leaving weights all over the floor literally a few feet from the racks.
One thing that made me think of this thread last week was I arrived at the gym to do front squats and saw what looked like all four of the squat racks being used for curls. Luckily, only three were so I set up shop, and within 5-10 minutes all three racks were open.
However, what blew my mind was that throughout the course of my workout, which was about 45 minutes, 4 different guys/groups of guys came up to the rack next me to do curls. The third guy to come up made me laugh, and the fourth just shook my faith in not only my gym, but humanity at large.

Oh wtf. I actually don’t even care about people literally curling in the squat rack. But I’ll be damned if you do anything on the bench that isn’t a bench press. Everyone knows that in any gym there is only ever one “good” bench. And I better not catch someone wasting its potential.

How about two bros curling a single dumbbell with both hands (seems like an increasing fad)while sitting on the one upright bench when we do not have a military press at my gym. I have some hip problems so I need the back support when I overhead press. There is no reason to use a bench like that for curling.

What is it exactly that bros do in the gym anyway? I grew up on a solid diet of Mark Rippetoe, Stuart Mcroberts and Chad Waterbury in a home gym, and while that’s not so bad, I’m left with not a clue as to what it is that the morons are doing. No really, it’s a closed book to me. All I know is that monday is bench press day.

It was funny, I used to read the SRC threads back when I lifted exclusively in my home gym, and was amazed that this crap is put up with. Then I joined the USMC and went to on-base gyms, and now see everything here on a regular basis.
For heaven’s sake, I’ve seen people spotting each other on the deadlift. Just think about that for a moment. Let it sink in. Thankfully, ACTUAL squat rack curling isn’t too common, and when I need to squat and someone is doing it, it only takes a moment to explain why my squats take priority. Never had any issues with that.

Hey Hungry, side note, is the Corps. really considering changing the Blues cover? The new concept looks just awful.
