Squat Rack Curls 5.0

^the juggling was pretty sweet, but wtf to the other thing

the neck bridge press was how the development of the bench press started out. guys would lay on the floor, do a pullover to get the barbell up and neck bridge if they wanted more ROM than a floor press.
I think that guys was just loading a neck bridge, rather than ^that
KB juggling was awesome though

Looked like they were training in a martial arts studio. The neck bridge may be for grappling, or simply to crush the discs in the neck…

It’s a toss up…

Not enough leg movement to be qualified for a quarter squat and too much leaning forward, so I guess this guy was doing quarter good mornings? Then the other day this really weird guy was near me (a little too close for my comfort) and crossed his arms and started jumping up and down.

We have a torso rotation machine in our gym. It looks like this:

I don’t understand why people would use this. Just seems like an injury waiting to happen. Am I wrong though?

(I put this in here because I didn’t just want to start a whole new topic about it.)

HAY GUYZ

HOWS MY PULL DOWN

Don’t take creatine. It’ll make you dick smaller.

^that’s my excuse

Does assited shrugs on the squat rack count ?

at the gym yesterday just finishing up dealifts waiting for the squat rack to open up,
3 skinny boys doing shurgs on the squat rack (because they cant dealift 20 kg a side from the floor) they were actually spotting one of their mates as he couldnt shrug the weight all the way up or down without his assistance . i had to laugh if it wasnt that pitiful

My gym has one squat rack…and the latest trend is for people to rack the bar at waist height and do push-ups on it. My bad habit is to warm up with goblet squats while staring at them.

So this guy was benching in the gym today, using a thumbless grip, and wouldn’t you know it, his wrists rolled forward and he dropped the bar on his chest. ha ha luckily it was only 250#'s so I didn’t hurt myself too bad. Needless to say, that’s the last time I use a thumbless grip.

Today some guy was making out with his reflection in the mirror for a good 3-5 minutes.

It would be funnier if I was exaggerating.

Your avatar made that story funny for me

It’s all you bro

This past Friday, I went to my gym in the after around 1pm. My normal training times are closer to 6pm. I was having a hard time believing what i was seeing. 3 different people, with shockingly bad form. First, I saw this dude, doing god knows how many sets on the hammar strength incline press. The guy was only lowering the weight down a quarter of the ways. Not even half way. I don’t know about others here, but I wanted to approach this shit terd and ask him, where he learned this god aweful technique. I don’t understand why some guys do this. Is it to try and isolate the triceps more. Isn’t that what tricep exercises are for? Not only was his form horrid, the guy was doing wayyyyy to many sets. He had to weigh no more than a buck 50, if that. he had to do at least 12 sets on that one exercise.

The next jabroni I saw was doing pulldowns for lats. This guy was leaning so far back, he was parallel. Plus, he was using full momentum to get the weight moving. Not one iota of muscle contraction. just swinging and pulling the weight down while leaning wayyyy to far back. At this point, i was actually making comments, that i just couldn’t beleive what i was seeing. I think the dude actually heard me say, ā€œwho the fuck taught him how do that.ā€ Don’t people even know how to properly do an exercise.

This other dude, didn’t really have bad form, he was just breathing so hard for each rep, it just pissed me off, ruined my concentration.

Has anyone here gone over to someone with obviously terrible form and try and help them do it correctly. and if so, what was their reaction. Most people think they know everything and won’t take advice.

Most people think they know everything and won’t take advice. B I N G O !
even if you do it with an inoffensive way people are just to dumb, ignorant or
self absorbed to want to learn something new.

BTW- PLEASE feel free to come up to me and suggest improvements as I know my
form is not what it could be. TEACH ME ! sincerly, killerDIRK ; )

Twice at my crap gym people have inconvenient me by doing stuff with bands in bad locations. One was this old lady was standing with her back turned to me for almost 5 minutes with headphones on in a spot where she would get hit in the head with the end of the bar if I unracked and stepped out. This other guy had a band attached to his foot and the bottom of a bench press. The band was going across a main walkway like he was trying to trip anyone who walked by.

So far the best one from like 5 years ago was a guy doing jump rope in one of the main areas that separated the main part of the gym with the water fountain and locker rooms. So anyone coming to/from those had to avoid getting hit by the jump rope, which can be a large radius.

bosu ball DB tricep kickbacks. That’s all im saying

Pretty good sized new guy at the gym on Friday comes in and does a couple warmup sets on bench. Loads up 315 and I ask if he needs a spot. ā€œNah, I got this.ā€ I’m thinking this is awesome. A new guy who lifts heavy!

Unracks and proceeds to do 1" ROM for three, then racks it. He does five sets.

Let down.
