I’m confident that I wouldn’t have passed whatever kind of test you may envision for the right to join a gym when I first tried lifting weights. So, if I had not been “allowed” to join, where would I have improved to the point of being “good enough”?
I took that as more of an etiquette test, versus a physical one.
You just finished your last set of deadlifts. Do you
a. Put the weights back
b. Leave them on the bar for the next person
c. Commence to posing in the mirrors. Chest bump nearest person (extra credit if the aforementioned nearest person is female)
True or False
a. Blow dryers provided by the management are intended for use on balls only
Etc…

This should be standard at all gyms…and if you violate the laws of etiquette you are forced to sit in the locker room with the old men who hang out naked in there
Yes I meant etiquette test. Because most people have horrible gym etiquette. A form test would be nice too. It pains me to see all the half squats and bent backed people thinking they are in beast mode.
Also…I took a video of myself squatting the other day. And I thought it would be funny to post in this thread. Lol at the guy next to me and the music being played in the background…
I had the safety bars in place. Even though they weren’t needed. It would be nice to have a spotter, I don’t trust people in my gym to spot properly.I’m one of the only people there that even squat, so if you don’t squat, you probably can’t spot me. They seem to be too busy doing squat rack curls and listening to adele anyways. I wasn’t pushing myself too hard. I don’t know that the seven was too much of a “struggle” It was pretty good form if you ask me. Maybe when I’m 56 years old I’ll be more concerned…

i LOL at you for not having a spotter… struggeling with 7 reps and no spotter…dumb!!!
I never use a spotter they get in the way
Anyway was doing some modest deadlifts with 275 when this old guy walked in front of me, said “I used to snatch that” and went over and did 10 lbs hammer curls.
I was doing overhead presses today and was struggling on the last few reps of my last set. At the last rep some guy walks 2 feet behind me and yells: “You can do it come on do one more!!!” and proceeds to step really near behind me like he’s going to spot me. He startled me so bad I almost dropped the weight on my head. Not to mention I was a bit creeped out by him walking so close behind me all of a sudden. I should have dropped the weight on his head.
