Squat Rack Curls 2011

Guy pacing around a 4 plate loaded smith machine(for squats), CLEARLY looking for attention. After a six minute “warm-up”(pacing; and yes I checked the clock, I was doing timed hip flexor stretches before squats) he grabs a pussy pad and gets ready with arms on the bar. Once COMPLETELY PREPARED(involving repeatedly wrapping hands around bar, deep breaths, and ‘finding’ his glutes) he drops his hands to his knees and begins ‘push squatting’(‘balancing’ the bar on his neck and pushing of off his knees). I laughed out fucking loud, blatantly enough for people to know exactly what I was laughing at. I then look over at the leg press and the guy repping five plates breaks his stare and takes his hands off of his knees.

I realize most people wont care as much about our bodies/performance as we do and they probably arent well educated in this field but sometimes I think, what the hell are they thinking. Especially when I hear stories like this.

guy in the squat rack today doing 35lb seated ez curls and 55lb btn presses. for over two hours. when i was cleaning he asked if i would stop so he could use the mirror to check his form, i just pretended i didnt hear him

I was the only male in a gym full of females today.

Today was a good day.

I got kicked in the fucking head today.

There’s this guy who literally does 360s and 540 kicks IN THE MIDDLE of the weight room. There’s hardly any space and he’s actually doing backflips off the chin-up station.

I was about to start my chest set when his foot came around and half smacked me in the head. It then half smacked my bench, and he hobbled off.

THEN, he came back and claimed that THREE of his cousins were world boxing champions. He’s black, and he named three genuine irishmen who I’d never heard of before.

He then told another guy off for taking protein because “protein destroys your insides”

He then took his fucking shirt off and flexed to the mirror.

He weighs 160-170. He’s lean, and one day if he keeps going he’ll look good.

But given that he’s been a prick all his life who tells people how to correct their exercise whilst they’re in the middle of their set, he’ll just become a bigger prick.

He RUNS in the weights area.

And does flying kicks.

WHY?!? Piece of shit.

PS. Yeah, he rolled his ankle over a 10lb dumbell too. I had to laugh.

Hit him in the face with a plate and tell him he’s in a fucking gym, not a gymnastics complex. Not too violent, as you’d like him to be semi-conscious so he can hear you, but get the point across.

I looked for an existing thread to put this in, i guess SRC is close enough. Idk if this has been posted, but it gave me a good laugh.

I had that once with me.

I just told him: you are messing with my PR, and it’s not that my shoes have steel plates that will protect against the weight. then proceeded to deadlift, and then i put my shoes back.

Two assholes using the assisted chin up machine as a leg press. I fucking quit.
