I have a pair of Titan neoprene knee bands that I’m happy with, but no experience with any other brand so not much to compare to!

385 did not move as I would have hoped.

The last few workouts I have been making minor tweaks to the equipment for Luis and I to make it more difficult. Just to better prepare us for unknown circumstances. Last workout I added the 2.5lbs plates 1st and then loaded our normal numbers. Today we used a bar we both hate and the gym helped us by ripping apart the only decent bench so we had to bench in the squat rack. That at least partially accounted for the heavy 385.

ATTEMPTS and Water Cut:

I am more certain of my 2nd attempts than openers because I plan on opening on the very conservative side and making a larger jump to make up for it. Which will still set me up for as strong of 3rd attempts as I could hope for.

Very good chance I pass on my 3rd or maybe even 2nd squat attempts.

Warmups will really determine a lot. 3rd attempts listed are what I am taking if I make it to that moment and feel incredibly hulk like. Most likely these will be lesser.

I do know that barring a miracle my 3rd bench attempt will be a double body weight attempt.

Depending on how close I am I will adjust things. Most likely keeping sodium in my diet on friday but still keeping water and food lesser and stopped early. I wake up around 4am so that will give me 4-5 hours to cut water if needed on day of.

This is for worst case scenario. I am pretty sure I will be mid 94s come Friday which would not warrant this drastic of water cut.

(The rice will be made with Salt-Lite…no veggies because I want the carbs absorbed as fast as possible and I am not going the sugar route because I think it is silly to add something like that when you wouldnt normally eat that.)

Wow that was pretty much the entire workout. Sleds are going to be my go to rehab and assistance movement. It hits all the boxes I need checked:

-Doesn’t hurt knee
-Unilateral
-Posterior and Quad Dominant Work
-Functional
-Conditioning

Knee is feeling a bit wonky right now, we will see how that develops but I have high hopes. Testing my squat tomorrow might suck though.

Training post comp is going to focus on a wider variety of assistance and main lifts. This just keeps me healthier. Dropping Front Squats (because I got too big) was probably one of my bigger mistakes.

AND BEST PART IS WIFEY IS FINALLY FEELING BETTER

Thanks for the tutorial on the hook grip. I have small hands and had given up on the technique, but what seems like a slight change in thumb angle made a difference in both comfort and confidence. I still have to hold the bar deep in my hand (remember small hands) but it’s still better than my original trial some months back.

Woke Up 94.9kg and looking tight but energy levels have been rough. Nothing but potatoes and chicken has done me well but if I go much further I will full snap which has ended my last 2 super cuts.

It is also today or wait until post comp. If my body reacts bad I have 3 days to fix it and today is a pretty big workout I will need the calories and recovery.

I am pretty sure I had both actual horrible knee pain in both knees and nightmares with horrible knee pain in both knees last night. Reverse Sleds might have had something to do with that. I am doing them again today but I will lighten the load.

I took an Aleve and feel fine, I am thinking for this week and rehab I will probably take Aleve once a day. I think the lessened pain and not developing improper motor patterns from that pain will out weigh the potential down grade in recovery. Plus if it is inflammation based then Aleve will fix that.

Sleeved Squats were awesome. Depth was perfect but form and walkouts especially were shaky but that is to be expected working with heavy weights for the 2nd time in how ever many months. I could feel my knee click but it wasnt painful. I will probably being going 215-235-245 or 250 or Pass for squats.

I didnt get to deads or sleds because I took a cab to my normal gym and it was closed for the rain (

Things being closed for stuff like rain is actually part of Mexico’s charm, I just wish it wasn’t 4 days out from my comp.

Some absolutely heartbreaking news, just finished a grimm marathon with the 6th season I had not seen yet. Now I dont know what to watch. Maybe its time for a Firefly or Fringe rewatch. Looks better than anything I am seeing.

Game of Thrones, The Office, Friends, Hannibal, Archer and How to Get Away with Murder are the ones my wife and I have enjoyed. They are all on Netflix (I believe) except for Game of Thrones.

Also, what the heck is “Campesia”? That is assuming that it is a different meaning than Google Translate is giving me…

LOL PDC So this really shady restaurant we walk by daily had a customer this morning (first we had ever seen). This restaurant basically is a house with a sign, couple of food display cases and a fridge with drinks in it.

LOL, so yea PDC has been a shit show lately. Changing of politicians means new “government contracts” which leads to “aggressive negotiations” which also causes the Zetas and Sinaloa to fight over territory and it has been escalating since the Music festival in January.

I will miss PDC but I think we are leaving at the right time.

And the biggest thing that pisses me off about all this is the War on Drugs is responsible for this and the US is why there is a war on drugs. Then the people who live these lives try to flee to the place responsible and they are treated like shit. You want to stop Mexicans (and all outsiders) from coming to your country then stop fucking with their lives.

Woke Up 94.8kg and looking tight buuuut that was neked and I had been weighing in undies. Either way pretty nice surprise until I got to the gym and realized I was kind dehydrated. Not sure how, I drank water through out the night and pounded water before the gym and during. I have been keeping up on my Salt-Lite intake but I got headaches from reps and didn’t sweat.

Hopefully this doesnt cause a rebound, hopefully this is just the carbs being flushed and my body adapting.

I drank a liter of water while sleeping.

OK so groups go:
Group A: Mini People hehehehehe
Group B: 73-83-93kg
Group C: Over 93kg

The only thing I care about is being under 95kg (for 190kg Bench attempt)

In this spot it would be really easy to get to 93kg but seeing I will have an extra 15-30 minutes to drink/eat if I can weigh in 93.1kg to 94.9kg and my performance should be that much better I am not dropping Salt-Lite or lowering water but I will stop water intake at 8pm and let the kilos fall where they may.

Also, if I am going to have a day I want to beat the biggest people there :smiley:

TMI: I dropped caffeine so it would have a greater affect on Saturday but not just for energy…in case I need to encourage some last minute weight loss. This is kind of my Ace in the Hole and I dont think this will negatively affect my performance at all as a water cut would.

1 Avocado
4-6L of water with 2 Spoons of Salt-Lite
1 Scoop of Intra Workout supp

Oh yea, peer pressure made me buy an intra workout no calorie BCAA and electrolyte mix. I dont have a lot of faith in BCAAs but I love me some vitamins and electrolytes.

Just have a few loose ends to tie up then WE ROLLIN!!!

Yeah, it starts slow because it develops the characters really well, but once it gets going…hoo boy…good stuff.
