Spoon Feeding the Newbies

Do you guys all remember when you first started researching AAS?

People scare the shit out of other people… good thing though, so newbies think twice before doing a cycle. That’s what hapenned to me: researched at the age of 25, never did a cycle, and now am older and considering it more seriously and hopefully, with more maturity…

Yes. I started in my University library with a tome from the 70s on Androgens. This was followed by texts on Male Puberty, Muscle Hypertrophy (generally horrible incorrect in application to trained athletes) and Insulin & Anabolism. Nothing in that first text has yet proved incorrect, and it provided a great base of knowledge from which to begin piecing together my 1st cycle.

I wish most of the people posting here for 1st cycle advice did the same.

I spent well over a year, almost two researching, believing bro-science, questioning said science, and then finding something to disprove (or prove tbf) it. It’s pretty arduous sifting through all the bull touted as ‘how it works’ but you don’t need to ask questions, not for a long time.

I spent years lurking and reading here before I ever posted.

Prisoner helped me via PM on my first cycle, then BBB used to help me because after a couple of cycles I went through all the shit Singhbuilder is going through now because I couldn’t recover properly.

I’m glad I had this site because I’d overhear 'bro’s’talking shit and would know they were wrong so never got caught up in the ‘hype’. I think we’re lucky to have the ‘consensus ad idem’ here with everyone sharing their knowledge. Although there is always plenty of sharp talk aimed at the newbies and trolls, I think it is - at least to a degree - necessary in order to maintain the high standards of knowledge on here.

If you compare the standard of knowledge (especially on HRT) compared to UK muscle talk there really is no comparison, the level of knowledge by the ‘top boys’ is risible. I’ve seen the mods advocating shooting up sustanon twice a week (I know it could be argued that is a contentious subject because many of u, including me have done that without any problems) and seen people defending a HRT protocol of one shot of sust 250 every three weeks!

I can also remember quite a few posters (some who wouldn’t have known I existed) coming and going, some I remember quite fondly like World; Mike Katz, and Prisoner, who still pops in from time to time, others I’m glad to see the back off (rainjack and Brook spring to mind). Bonez217 is probably the most prominent newer face (I was lurking here in 2003 but didn’t join until 2004 and hardly posted) to arrive (the one that stands out to me most in the steroid forum anyway) and PTDave and Lurxalot are two more recent welcome additions that spring to mind (no offense to anyone I’ve neglected to mention). All of the people I’ve mentioned have contributed here and I am still learning from some of them. As we all know BBB’s knowledge has not stopped increasing and he is showing no signs of slowing down!

I’m glad I started off here (and I intend to stay ‘with’ this site and not ‘jump ship’ LOL to another one) and whilst I’m not a ‘vet’ I’m always happy to share my experiences and what little I do know to help other people avoid or overcome problems and not make simple mistakes.

10 years ago and one of the first times I ever used a computer. I opened up a browser and typed in testosterone.com and was lead to this site.

I never ended up doing the cycle. Still considering it though.

I’m halfway through week 5 of my first cycle. I made my mind up in november last year to do a cycle, and researched the shit out of it til January when I took the plunge. I initially thought I would do a nice, “safe” anavar only cycle and made the mistake of posting a thread about it on here. I was promptly torn a new one.

So I went back to the drawing board and did more research, posted a proper cycle (var and test) and was helped out tremendously. Forums are generally a lot more polite to you once you’ve done your research!

I have to say though, as a newb it is VERY hard to know who to listen to. There is so much contradictory info out there it’s unreal. It’s hard to know who to trust and who to disregard. After you lurked for long enough though you get a feel for who knows what they’re talking about and who’s just regurgitating what they’ve heard somewhere.

I’ve actually had to stop researching roids now because it just makes me second-guess myself… I still like the occasional glance at this forum when I’m bored though

im new here as well, read here and other places for a couple years off and on. Planning on starting first cycle soon… will be a 2 weeker ala Bill Roberts. Its funny you brought that up, when i decided that im going to do it, i was researching anavar only cycles for a while, and also contemplating how to incorporate primo enanthate into a two weeker. I posted a thread about it, and one of the posters said “heres some research- test suspension and dbol,” which at the time I didnt really pay much attention to. Then after some more reading it kindof hit me, what the hell have i been thinking? Now gonna go with that duo.
Anyways, i really enjoy lurking around this forum, and I appreciate all of the contributions of all of the vets here. And im not gonna lie, some of the flamings are very entertaining reads LOL, even though it could be me. Hell, if i got flamed, I would appreciate it, i dont understand how ppl getting constructive “flaming” can get so upset, Ive learned a bit from the flaming of posters. And in closing, recently, a trustworthy source of mine tried to tell me that aromasin was all i would need for any PCT. He obviously did not have Nolva or Clomid. Had it not been for this forum, I would have taken his advice wholeheartedly, but knew better and sought ancillaries elsewhere.

It has been about 8 years since I was directed to this website via ‘the guy at the gym.’ It was a 24 hour fitness. I was younger, and all-too-eager to read everything I could regarding training, supplementation and drugs. It took Not-Too-Long before I clicked on the steroids forum… Reading what people had to say; prisoner, mike katz, brooks, rainjack, all those guys…

At the end of the day, all the reading/research I could do was simply that… Preparation. Heres to keeping ‘the great experiment’ going

Come on Bonez; I know you have some Alpha Male comment to make.

I’m a new sign up to these forums but have been lurking for some time now. Due to some relatively recent realizations and subsequent lab results I’ve been researching HRT and HPTA related endocrinology for the last 3 months. Besides wishing I hadn’t been so foolish and pigheaded when I was younger - messing with things I didn’t understand - I truly wish I’d found this resource back then. The simple yet clearly informed manner with which the vets and others address ignorant people and their questions would’ve been enough for me to realize back then how complex, serious, and potentially dangerous gear can be, and the intelligence and respect with which it must be approached. If I’d barged my way in here at 20 looking for someone to tell me “what kind of 'roids will get me huge?” and received the appropriate abuse as due, and then taken 5 minutes to take a look at some of the stickies after being pointed in that direction - I would probably still be researching my first cycle, and rightly so.

The verbal thrashing which often seems to be required around here is fully appropriate and when it contains even an ounce of constructive advice, which it usually does, it is truly the best thing an uninformed poster can receive. The most important thing at that stage is to know what you don’t know. When I do post a new thread here, looking for advice, it will be with at least a basic working knowledge of most of the necessary concepts. If I catch some flak for lacking understanding in some of the fundamentals, I will not become offended and defensive - I will simply seek out the knowledge I am missing. My education on hormones, endocrinology, and the various synthetics and other compounds used to control them is still in its infancy and will probably continue for life.

The wealth of knowledge embodied in these forums is unparalleled by anything else I’ve come across online over the years. The generous, and often laborious sharing of knowledge by the vets and other members here is incredible, and it can be seen as nothing less than an invaluable service to the thousands that lurk these threads. I am already so grateful for the things I’ve learned through this resource that I feel fully obligated to contribute meaningfully here once I have the proper understanding.

This may be a bit buttery, and I may be hoping for valuable replies to posts in the future, but it’s all true and I’m sure it speaks for many that frequent these forums. Thanks to all the vets and knowledgeable members who share their information and experience!
