I’m on my third week of t cyp (100 mg/wk). Had initially been on the patch for a month and responded really well but had terrible rashes and had to switch. The first two shots of cyp I have felt almost nothing beyond a day or two, and I am suffering pretty bad with all the old low t symptoms including anxiety and a confused head.
I have a medical procedure on Wednesday morning, the day before my next shot, which is making me even more anxious.
I am thinking about splitting this week’s dose into two sets of 50mg (starting tonight or tomorrow morning) to give me maybe a small boost in prep for a tough week, then going back to the regular schedule next week.
Anyone have thoughts on this? Is it a good idea? A bad idea? Pointless? Thanks.
Anything would be better than once weekly, however it’s pointless to continue seeing a doctor who refuses to test other labs such as SHBG and estrogen. He’s hinting that he is clueless about hormone therapy.
You really need SHBG tested, otherwise you are guessing protocol wise.
I am on a once a week protocol and do just fine. However, you’ve answered your own question. You should not feel good for only two days, and then see your symptoms returning. Try every 3.5 days and see if that helps.
Thanks guys. I did it. I forgot to swab the little rubber thingy (brand new vial which arrived covered) even though I had just written the instruction down. Damn brain fog. I switched needles and did it again with swabbing but if I contaminated it, it was done already. I’ve read this isn’t a humongous infection risk, but I feel like an idiot and am slightly worried.
Maybe not, but you were already on test and you noted you did feel something, but only for a day or two. It won’t hurt to continue with your current schedule. You’ll know soon enough whether or not it is right for you. Of course, it would be nice to know SHBG levels.
