I have a decent Sony bookshelf stereo for the basement gym. It has 2 detched shelf speakers and a seperate floor subwoofer.
I have a cheap KOSS 5.1 stereo laying in a box somewhere in the basement.
Is it possible to splice or attach the KOSS speaker wires to the Sony speaker wires, so it will play 4 speakers instead of just 2?

It will, but 2 problems. One no guarantee on the sound. Two, you will drop the impedance on the amp which may cause it to over heat. So go for it and see what happens.
