HDTV Speakers?

I have a flat 20" LG HDTV and a 1080p Sony HDMI-capable DVD player (both just recently purchased).
I have the two connected with a 10.2 Gbps HDMI cable.

I’d like to find a speaker system for this setup.

I don’t need a full home theater system that includes a DVD player; speakers-only is what I am looking for.
The only thing I’ve come across, so far, is a $499.99 BOSE speaker system, which I cannot afford. Everything else I’ve been able to find up to this point includes a DVD player, which I don’t need.

Am I stuck with the BOSE?
Or is there another option out there?

What is your budget?

You don’t need to spend $500 on a Bose system, when for example something like this would work (I know I know, you dont need a DVD player but this is just to show you can get something decent for $300 or less)

What is your space requirement as well? Get 5 of these, a sub, and a quality 5.1 channel receiver.
