SPECIAL REPORT: Unleash the Full Anabolic Potential of Food

For those of you already taking this:

Which meals do you take it with?

I am planning to use it for breakfast, post workout (I don’t have Surge) and before bed. Would I be better off taking it at different times?

Mutu - That sounds fine to me, and is similar to what I’m doing now–breakfast, lunch, 5PM meal, and last meal. However, I think Surge is the more valuable supplement if you have to choose one. If I had to pick just one supplement to have for the rest of my life, it would be Surge. L-Leucine is a useful addition, but PWO nutrition is paramount. Um, </Biotest pimp>. Then, if you use Surge PWO, it would be unneccessary to include additional L-Leucine in that shake (since it’s already contained in Surge).

How are you liking the L-Leucine so far?

I just got mine today and used it for the first time. I have to say that it mixes HORRIBLY, but luckily I can’t taste it at all so I just chug some clumpy L-Leucine-orange juice before my meal.

I agree with you on the importance of Surge, but its just too expensive for me to use long term. I’m trying to fix up my sleep also, so I’d rather use the money for Z-12.

Mutu- Yes, it does mix terribly–actually, it doesn’t mix at all, like oil and water. I either mix it with a shake or in with solid food. You’re lucky it’s tasteless to you! To me, it’s slightly bitter. Strangely, mixing it with other protein-containing foods not only masks the bitterness but makes the food taste better–just a more satisfying “yes, this is exactly the food I need right now” taste. It’s hard to describe, and may be just in my head, but I could swear there’s a difference. I see L-Leucine as a long-term use supplement, which is good since the tub I got will last quite a while.

I understand the need for triage with supplements, and L-Leucine is a good value per gram. Still, I’ll never go back to my old “Powerade and whey” PWO days.

Read the entire thread and noticed a couple posts regarding low-carb diets. I’ve been on the anabolic diet for almost 3 months and just bought some L-Leucine to help out with my cut. Any further feedback about this? Especially concerning insulin, since my meals are predominantly P+F.

BTW, I’ve been taking L-Leucine for 4 days now. I don’t think there’s any other option but to put it in your mouth and chase it with water. I dropped it from my PWO shake- two scoops of my whey contains ~7.3g leucine.

I’m actually mostly curious if I can reduce the amount of L-Leucine I’m supping considering the amount of protein I ingest daily. I aim to get 1000 calories of protein, based on ~2000-2200 calories/day. I’m ~175lbs @12%bf. Possibly thinking 3-4g/meal for 4 meals.

Found this link if anyone is curious about finding out how much leucine they require at each feeding. If 5g is recommended at each meal, then it appears I only need to supplement a couple extra grams of leucine per meal.

Biotest -

Would you folks please consider putting the L-Leucine in a container with a somewhat larger diameter?

When I get to the bottom quarter, I can’t get my hand in there to even get the scoop! Yeah, yeah, I just use a tablespoon, but then why bother with the scoop?

I second this. Or make it come with a really long scooper :stuck_out_tongue:

Mixing L-Leucine to a consistency that doesn’t resemble oil and water requires that you shake the living piss out of it if you are mixing with water. But, I agree with the majority, take one scoop and hurl that bitter crap to the mucousy depths of your throat and chase with water. Consuming any other way is fooking awful.

Hey sick rowdy beasts, I’ve read through most of the posts and have not seen anything along these lines… Has anyone had a decrease in their appetite since they have began supplementing lL-eucine??? My appetite has significantly decrease. I would love to imagine this was because I’m already jacked as hell but my physique is like mashed potatoes right now. Any input would be appreciated.

I hear that Leucine works best with HMB. Is that true?

Not true.

Since there’s already a few grams of l-leucine in Surge, is there any need to add more?

We haven’t seen a benefit to supplementing Surge Recovery with additional Leucine.

On that note Mod Briano,

If on a cut program using Metabolic Drive, Surge WF and Surge Recovery, and supplementing with 4 scoops of L-Leucine daily…is this amount of almighty Leucine too much for the system???

I’ve been putting it on my meals and the taste is so awful, seriously, I can’t eat the food. I guess my taste buds hone in on it.
Just pour a serving in your mouth and follow with water.

Quite a few people around here use L-Leucine this was because it’s quick and easy.
I totaly agree with putting the serving in your mouth. This stuff works im on my second bottle. But it taste like powdered asprin ughh. I started putting the servings in my mouth and shoot it with water after every meal. That way I can axualy enjoy the food.
