Soy on the March

Get set for the next wave of soy propaganda:

Soy-based shakes help lower weight, cholesterol
Thu Jun 16, 2005. By Charnicia E. Huggins
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - For people trying to lose weight, new research suggests that soy-based liquid meal replacement shakes may be just as effective as intensive behavioral therapy and more effective than weight loss medications.

“Using two meal replacements daily is one of the most effective ways of losing weight on your own,” study author Dr. James W. Anderson, of the University of Kentucky told Reuters Health.

What’s more, the benefits of soy-based meal replacements may extend beyond trimming the waistline, the report indicates. It also appears to help lower cholesterol and trigylceride levels … [Blah-de-blah]

Nothing about growing manboobs, though …

And yes, you’re right: the study is funded by a soy company (which at least is mentioned in this report, but will be dropped, no doubt, when the mainstream press does its copy and paste on the evening news and the weekend editions).

Maybe this is causing the current wave of Hermaphroduded-ness.
