Sowell on the Economics of Medical Care

One of my favorite authors has put out a very interesting 9 part series on medical care.

I’d like to hear from people who are in the UK or other countries with government administered care if they find his information and assessments cogent.

That sounds about right.

Endless waiting in stalinist architecture just so that a government paid doctor wont give a shit and prescribes you something after 3 minutes so that you go away.

The doctor I hired privately took 1,5 hours to search for every little symptom, found the cause and removed it.

The interesting thing is that even though that talk cost me 200 EUR, it saved thousands down the road whereas the doctors that just kicked the problem down the road would probably have killed me in the course of time and running up a huge bill in the process.

People do not realize sometimes that in systems like these tax evasion becomes self defense and can literally be life saving.
