I don’t plan to buy a new gen console anytime soon. It’s basically the same shit as the last gen with better graphics…what’s the point!?

I’m saddened by the whole gaming industry. I remember the “Golden Age” of video games back in the 90s. Oh well, that’s long gone now…

What bothers me even more is when companies like Looking Glass make amazing games like System Shock 2 and they go out of business…wtf!? It’s frustrated, because people seem to like playing the same old crap over and over and over again (i.e. GTA 4). Rather than play something creative and original.

Everything went down hill when EA started buying up everyone. That was the beginning of the end.

You should check out Bioshock, it’s to a lesser extent a sequel to System Shock.

Why wait for it on PS3 when you can have it now on 360?

Why get it on 360 when you can get it on PC and have it look better than 360 or PS3? and its only $20 on pc.
Because you have to sell your soul to the devil and sell your house to afford the grafix and sound cards and what ever else you need to get in order to make a high quality game run well on a P.C.

I remember when Doom 3 came out the grafix were so ahead of its time that it cost about $1000+ to upgrade certain pc’s to play it how it was supposed to look and sound.

I’ll stick to my one time fee of $279.99 for a 360 and 59.99 for the game.

Once Tekken 6 hits, if it doesn’t come to the 360, I’m going to have to buy, regardless of cost.
To me there is no point in havving an HD console without an HD TV and HD sound so I will wait on the one till I get the others. But I realy really want to play MGS4 and some other PS3 games but they will all be there when ever I need them so Im in no real hurry.

But if there was one game that would really give me the ich to just say to hell with it, its Tekken 6. I bet I have spent more time playing Tekken 4 and 5 the FF7-12 put together…I love me some tekken.

Here is some other stuff that happened to SONY as a whole they are closing facilities in NYC
the PS3 suckage, the DRM lawsuits and settlements put the entire company in the red.

Not true. You can run games on mid settings and they would look better than any thing the 360 can generate. Hell it cant even begin to try and run Crysis. But you can get an 8600 FX carg for about $75 and run a game on highest settings with little or know problem. As far as sound goes how many ppl realy have REAL HD sound? just b/c you have surround sound dosent make it HD and you can get a sound card for $30 but you really dont need it.

I completly rebuilt my PC at Christmas and only spent about $300 - $400 and I can do anything a PS3 or 360 can do and then some. So the selling your soul argument is a week one. Too have a supper highend mega uber rig then ya you might have to drop $1500 but to out prefom the PS3 you might have to spend $300-$400 depending on what you already have. To out do a 360 no more than $250-300.

O and you can run bioshock on a rather low-end pic it dosent take much. By low end just to clear it up is a 3 or 4 year lod PC

Don’t feel too bad for sony, the ps3 probably helped them kill hd dvd. They might be losing money on the ps3, but blue ray is going to make them a lot of money.

Im glad blue-ray is the superior format and wether you like sony or not you cant argue with that

And the difference between MGS…and MGS4 speaks as to why there’s a point.

Yeah MGS had a way better story line, IMO. Cut scenes that didn’t take 25 minutes, and one of the best death scenes ever (Sniper Wolf).

I actually have to reserve judgement because I haven’t played it yet but after Snake Eater, i kind of lost faith.

Yeah,I was just referring to difference in graphics, but MGS had one of the best stories in game history. I have always hated the long ass cutscenes…but to fans of the storyline you’d be a fool to skip through them first go around.

MGS4 ties ALL MGS storylines together and will take you back to memories of playing the NES original. hint Snake Eater was important for storyline of MGS4

I must add that Kojima made all the people who complained about Raiden regret it in MGS4.

I dont see how you can complain about long cutscenes in MGS4 when the ALL have them. And Personaly I think MGS2 was the best but thats just me

But this is the problem. You say you spent $300-$400 on rebuilding your computer. Instead, we committed to a game system with that money. The fact is, computers constantly require updating and purchasing of newer technology, and it’s really not all that cheap for someone like a college student. Sure, they come out with new systems, but that generally doesn’t happen for 4-6 years, until the current technology has been fully utilized.

I wasn’t complaining…just stating…besides I was referring to ALL of MGS series. And I personally agree about MGS2 being the best overall…but in terms of JUST the original storyline,I think MGS was better…after all it was the foundation for MGS2.

I think all of the games are great. I am use to the lengthy cut-scenes, and also enjoy them. If you didn’t like the previous games, then chances are you won’t like this one.

I agree that MGS had the best story of all 4, but they’re all good. The one thing that MGS4 doesn’t have over Snake Eater are boss battles though. They are too easy, and a bit cheesy, except the last one.

Has anyone tried the multiplayer? It isn’t half bad. Definitely not great, but still fun to play.
