Heres my guess on what my happen. Once Clay is better, he’s not going to just hand over the gavel. I just can’t picture that. Expecially when he finds out that Gemma burned the letters. Right now, clay is weak and helpless. But once clay is better, he won’t be weak and helpless anymore. And he will fight for control over the club. Jax doesn’t have the letters to back him up. But, he still has alot on him. Interesting to see how it all plays out.
Did you even watch the last couple of episodes?
Yes, I’ve watched the entire season. heres my reasoning, Clay has been the president of the club for a long long time. the club is his life. I just don’t think he will give it up easily. at the end of the episode, it showed Gemma burning the letters or something anyways. Tell me, exactly what am i missing. You think Clays is just going to go, sure, take over the club. I’m not saying he won’t. But hes a dangerous dude.
I don’t think gemma is as dangerous as Clay, but dammm close.

I’m pretty sure she only burned the ones that implicated her and Unser.

Correct. Jax put the letters he had in the toolbox in the shop, which was already mentioned.

Since when are old ladies allowed in Church? I knew she wasn’t going to leave anyhow.
I don’t like the CIA plot line. Seems lazy and way too obvious to me. Oh well, we’ll see how next season goes.

Yeah, I was really disappointed in the writing. Last episode was THE ultimate pre-climax buildup only to be deflated like a fucking balloon.
Clay still alive? CIA-Cartel? While it’s somewhat credible I agree, it’s a fucking lazy way out to keep up the drivel… I was expecting a big BANG for a finale and all I got was melodramatic screen-overlaps like it’s fucking Emergency Room or Grey’s Anatomy or some shit. Not sure if I’ll be tuning in to season 5…
And LOL @ “most dangerous gangster in Oakland”. That sounded like a 5-year old describing it as opposed to a police chief…

The Irish needing Clay alive was a text book example of deus ex machina.
Well they did set it up a little by having Jax busting up their baby farm. Plus Clay has been working with the Irish for decades now.
That’s kind of how I see the CIA thing too though, mostly because it came completely out of left field, and right on the heels of the Irish saying they’d only deal with Clay.
It just seems like lazy writing to me. Like the writers were all sitting around one day and someone just says “I GOT IT, CIA!” And everyone in the meeting instantly knows that all of their plot issues are solved because you can blame everything on the CIA. It’s like the catch-all, get out of plot hole free card.
It was a very unsatisfying finale, to say the least. Hopefully they don’t do too much more of that shit, because things like that make me lose interest (like with 24, which had constant bullshit like this). The suspension of disbelief required to buy into the plot grows to the point where it’s like I’m watching a fucking cartoon.
I thought so too (Lazy writing) but it does reboot the series for some interesting plot twists for a couple more years. I hate Clay as much as the next guy but having him around keeps the show interesting. He will have to sit in Piney’s old chair and plot his revenge and now he doesn’t have Gemma as an ally.

They pretty much had to do what they did in order to keep the show around. If they didnt do the whole CIA thing and the “We wont deal with the SONS unless Clay is around” bit then Jax would have killed Clay. Jax would have left with Tara and the boys and the show would have been over.
The finale wasnt as “satisfying” as other SOA finales but it was basically a “changing of the guard” within the club and will pick up right were it left off next season with the added Oakland Niners thing.
That finale didnt ruin the season for me by any means, it just set up for an even more bad ass next season IMO.

No Opie though =/
he’s gotta come back. The next season will be lame if Opie isnt there… the dynamic between Opie being the new VP and Clay being just another “member” will be pretty intense.
Couple of thoughts for next season:
How can Opie and Clay co-exist unless Jax tells Opie all about the CIA deal?
How will Bobby react to getting out of jail and finding out that Clay “stepped down” but he isnt the Prez now?
Will the club have Otto killed in prison for turning on them?
What the hell is going to happen with Tara? She friggin lost it in the finale. That chick was lookin crazy! “Tell me you love me” creeper
Who is going to play the father of the girl that Tigg ran through the glass window? The Sheriff said she was the daughter of the most powerful gang lord around… wonder if it’ll be a known actor? Thats gonna be huge cause now the sons arent just beefing with the Niners but they’ve got that guys gang to worry about as well.

so many things to look forward to! Cant wait.
In all fairness, if you can suspend belief enough to suffer those terrible Irish accents then you can believe any CIA/Illuminati/Secret Vatican conspiracy they throw at you.
I think it was a mistake to actually throw an actress from Belfast in amongst that lot - emphasised just how bad the rest of them were.

First off… I absolutely love this show. Getting it here in Afghanistan is a pain, but where there is a will there is always a way!
Just adding my $.02…
I read an interview with Kurt Sutter the other day and he mentioned that they pulled the CIA thing straight from the way the US did Pablo Escobar.
At first glance it was kind of like, “Really… CIA, WTF?” But after reading that interview and hearing how it was written in all along lessened the blow of how I thought it was a bit from left field.
The CIA angle did explain the botched kidnapping/assassination of Tara and the cartel’s insistence that they take care of it and not Clay.

I thought the same thing! Made sense why they didnt just shoot her and when Jax grabbed her the guys just shoved the MP5K in his face and didnt shoot.
I read the same article and I didn’t even think of the Tara kidnapping tie in. Nice pick up! I was a little disappoint in how they just tied up the Juice story line and the Mayor story line so abruptly and cleanly. Seemed kinda of anti-climatic. They should have done a two hour season finale and added in some better details around them.
