but Nate - if that were the case, why would she drop all that shit in Jax’s lap, and then tell him that Clay had to die - she KNEW that it would cause him to stick around with the club, and finish what his father started.

and Print…remember that Gemma said that the son will have to kill the father? That’s why she didnt want Opie to know about the stuff between Clay and Piney - am I right?

I’m struggling to remember exactly when, I believe it was when Uncer found Gemma beaten or when they were discussing how to handle Piney but what Gemma actually said was that Clay must die by the hands “of a Son” not meaning the son Jax but any SOA.
And Gemma didn’t want anyone, not just Opie, to know about the stuff between Clay and Piney because Piney read everything and knew Gemma’s involvement but his anger was directed towards Clay. Gemma knew that if Piney snitched on Clay like he threatened he would, all the letters and secrets would land in Jax’s lap and it would have revealed that Gemma’s hands weren’t clean. Gemma was persistent for the letters last night not because she cared about Tara’s life but because she wanted to filter which letters Jax saw, to protect herself.
Piney never saw the letters. He was bluffing the whole time. He had no idea of Gemma’s involvement. The letters weren’t going to see the light of day unless Tara wanted them to.
Gemma isn’t done yet. She now has to figure out another way to keep Jax in Charming. There are two ways that I can think of, since guilt and “you owe this to your family/father” don’t matter to him.
She can either have Tara killed, thus removing his way out since he has no ability to survive on the outside without her, or she can have Wendy sue for custody of Abel and win. He can’t leave if his kid is stuck in Charming. That might sound ridiculous since she is an ex-junkie, but Jax is a convicted felon and gang member, and Tara just got out of the psych wing in the hospital.
Make no mistake, Jackson Teller is not leaving Charming.
not at all edgy, I meant to include at my start that I was only correcting a minor detail as to what she had said a couple episodes ago. Last night with Jax wasn’t the first time Gemma has mentioned that Clay must die, but the first time she mentioned it to Jax. And you’re absolutely right, this opportunity for her to get her hands on the letters and be the one to [filter] AND FINALLY give them to Jax is her desperate attempt to keep Jax from leaving.
steelnation, I stand corrected. Piney didn’t see the letters but he wasn’t entirely bluffing was he? Didn’t he know the letters existed, didn’t he know that Tara had her hands on something (Did Tara speak with Piney while everyone was locked up)? I’m foggy so let me be corrected again if needed.
^ This. And I hate to add this but I’ve been made aware that SOA is scheduled/contracted/whatever for 7 seasons. I can’t see 3 more with Jax Teller not in Charming!

Tara talked to Piney when he was in the hospital and said something about reading old letters from JT. Some of the exact details of that conversation escape me, but there was definitely no contingency plan for Tara to release the letters if anything happened to Piney. That was all his fabrication to protect himself from Clay. He was also bluffing when he said he would give the letters to the club if Clay didn’t comply with his demands because he had no way to produce the evidence unless Tara decided to give him access. His word alone wouldn’t have been enough, and he didn’t actually have the proof that he needed.
What about Tara being absolutely insane, “Tell me you love me” to Jax, and then “Tell me you love me” to Gemma. Anyone else think that was strange as hell?

yeah - like she’s losing it…gettin crazy.
She’s definitely crazy if she thinks she’s smarter than Gemma when it comes to power plays and conniving schemes. Gemma forgot more about being a ruthless cunt than Tara will ever learn.

Wendy is going to sue for custody, Gemma doesn’t need to make her do it.
Does anybody know if you can ride a motorcycle after getting shot in the hand? Opie could be out of the club no matter what the members vote.

Very good point. That’s a potential storyline. You’re father took away my wife and my father. And you took away my way of life.
I’d imagine his hand will heal, but that thought did occur to me. I’d imagine Opie will have a much larger role starting next season, assuming he makes it out of this season alive.

Yeah, you could. Depending on which hand, really, but modifications could always be made to accomodate any person

Edit: I just checked, and the only picture I’ve got of my holding a rifle is where it’s slung over my shoulder, so it’s not a good comparison. Good eye though Wol
