Songs That Shouldn't Get You Pumped...

… but for some reason do.

I workout at home, so the other night it hit shuffel on the MP3 player and started off my session with some Pantera, Metallica, Slipknot, 5 finger death punch, the heavy stuff just kept coming, it was awesome! Usually I have hit skip but not this time, just quality lifting jam after jam. As I’m doing my last two lifts Dobie Gray’s song Drift Away came on, for some reason that song got me all kinds of pumped, I blew through the last few lifts and even added a few extra reps? Weird?

Anyone else have a song that pumps you up but shouldn’t?

I’ll cop to God Blessed The Broken Road by Rascal Flatts…so weird

Abba’s “Dancing Queen” gets me stoked.

Flyleaf- all around me. Its weird

Ne-yo - because of you, sexy love

not joking at all, reminds me of certain people who i no longer want in my life and gets me all kinds of angry lol its good for the 20 rep squats

Blink 182

Not a good addition to the thread, but a friend of mine quit a max attempt once because “Westlife-uptown girl” came up. All energy sapped…

To add to the thread, “when the going gets tough” from Billy Ocean is nice one!

Britney Spears ‘Give me more’

evolution…by pearl jam…absolutely hate the band, but that song gets me reved up everytime I hear it
dont mind the new eddie vedder stuff though
