Son is pissed at me over AI

For those that don’t know my youngest son has a Master’s Degree in art illustration. Well ive been wanting a banner made for my garage gym.

When he first got into some digital work years ago he made this.

Well… I asked him with his improved skill set to make a new design to get printed. Plus id let it slide that he hasnt been paying his part of the expenses.

well that was months ago…

So i said fuck it and took the old picture ran it through AI and modified it so much that it can be barely recognized from the original.

Oh he is pissed! I haven’t even got it printed yet. He has a deep psychotic hate for AI. I get it … it impacts his future income stream.

So does that make me a dick head if i get the banner printed. OR do I wait for who knows how long for when he can fit me in between his paid commission work.

Double the number of plates and I would like it more. As is, I need to imagine them as 50kg plates.

I can see the vitriol if it was paid work that he lost to AI, but if this is to hang up in your house who cares?

We could go round and round about the cons and costs of AI but like I said this is for personal, non-profit use so it’s really out of the realm of any meaningful criticism IMO

Looks good. I worry about AI taking my job also but it’s a necessary evil.

If we aren’t first, then we lose to China which can’t happen.

I agree…. Since he cant seem to take time to do it. Even if i offered to over look the expenses ive been covering.
