Something I Think Everyone Should Do

You should take lessons from guys like BlueCollarTr8n and Sentoguy. These guys took positions similar to yours in other threads but managed to do it in a way that fosters intelligent discussion.

You frequently belittle others who disagree with you which quashes any chance for a decent discussion.
Dude, honestly, quit the bullshit. Put me on ignore or kindly shut the fuck up. You don’t even post about bodybuilding much here…just about me.

It has gotten old. Follow your leader and put me on ignore.

I doubt anyone really cares what you have to say and it isn’t helping anyone get more muscular.

…and yes, I would say that in person as well.

If I am the problem, then putting me on ignore will solve your problem…and give you nothing else to type about.

No. What would solve the problem is you stopping the behavior which causes all of these threads to derail into inane arguments.

You stop.

No, You stop!

I have a hard time grasping why im being called “childish” and “crying for attention” yada yada.

I already posted I shouldve used better words than “everyone” to described who I think should just put him on ignore

I fail to see how anyone can disagree that me and a good number of others having him on ignore wouldnt benefit the site

This will be my last msg in this thread and lol @anyone diagnosticing insecurities etc etc

I personally do not need this website to 1)feel good about myself 2)become a better bodybuilder 3)market myself
So the question is : what do I even have to gain doing this? Not.much except know that by having the “posse” block him the forums would be way more interesting although prolly less entertaining

The moral of the story here is to let it be. If you don’t agree with PX and he won’t listen then just leave it. Same goes for you Prof, someone doesn’t agree with you then let them on their merry way. What is arguing over the Internet for multiple pages ever going to achieve?
? I come here to discuss these issues…and no, people will not always agree.

What is going on here is the elimination of intelligent debate in favor of “with us or against us”.

When I responded to austin about what was completely a topic of biology, his response was similar to “what have I accomplished in bodybilding”:…which is NOT how you carry on a debate.

Many here seem to hate the idea that someone can come along who has not competed in a bodybuilding contest and discuss these issues.

That is ridiculous…and yes, not ever responding to blatant misrepresentations of science or incorrect ideas will leave many newbs running down the wrong path.

That is why I post here…and it is why I won’t stop debating issues if I believe in what I am writing.

Some of the posters here clearly got upset and tried to run me off the forum. It didn’t work.

They then tried calling anyone who agreed with me a “troll” or an alternate account of mine.

That also won’t work.

I am here to discuss weight lifting and getting swole. Fuck the nonsense.

I am glad Zraw made this thread.

He just showed the whole site how ridiculous his mindset is…and his posse.
Professor X, you misunderstood. If someone refuses to budge from their position in a debate it is not a debate, it eventually boils down to name calling and bitching.

What I am saying is to move on and let them have their opinion because they won’t listen. This applies to you and others when speaking to you. If you had applied this from the beginning I’m guessing you’d have accumulated no more than 5,000 posts max.

I will demonstrate this now:

I think that thread was my all time favorite back and forth with X.

A close second was when I asked him roughly how much muscle a non underdeveloped full grown adult could hypothetically gain and he said he couldn’t give me an answer because he is a doctor and his words carry weight and actually mean something.
So hard to pick one! I would go with tbe thread cephalic carnage innocently started regarding px’s peeformance at hq. And also his performamce there in general. Jaw dropping reality tv.
PX is the bodybuilding authority that T-Nation deserves, but not the bodybuilding authority T-Nation needs right now, so we’ll hunt him, because he can take it, he’s not the hero, he’s our very vocal guardian, our watchful protecter, a dark knight…
LMAO

Seriously though, if that’s the authority this site deserves, maybe we should re-evaluate what sort of reputation we’ve garnered. I hold a deep love for T-Nation as I’ve been here so long, and have always benefited from the articles, discussions with like minded, well versed folks, and certainly done my best to share my own experiences.

It does bother me quite a bit when I see the quality of our forums here badmouthed on other web sites. Sadly though, there have been many accomplished, knowledgeable, and friendly folks who have come through these forums over the years who no longer contribute.

This site has quite a variety of sub-forums, and for people who have actually accomplished things in bodybuilding, or to have worked as coaches, have CSCS certs or kinesiology degrees and the like, to be treated rudely, and made to feel like they are completely incorrect in the ‘Bodybuilding’ forum by people who have neither done, nor earned any of that is just ridiculous.

While I certainly won’t say that the in-fighting and bickering is a good thing either, I do understand the attitude towards what seems to have become a regular occurrence with a particular member (whether trolling, or true disillusion, it changes naught).

It rightfully doesn’t make me want to chime in as much when I simply give examples of IFBB Pros who made well publicized use of certain training techniques as examples and discuss how every accepted technique Pros employ isn’t usually reduced to an article, only to have a rude reply as to my definition of the word ‘most’.

(On the other hand, you’ve got guys like BlueCollarTr8n, who disagreed with me, BUT maintained a respectful, friendly tone. The man is all class in my book).

S
x2 on BlueCollarTr8n. Same goes for Sentoguy. Even when he disagrees with someone he is completely respectful.

The problem, is that it detracts from the quality of the forum. If you have experienced guys who do no want engage in the discussion because they know it will devolve into some immature BS with PX then everyone else is losing out.
Excellent points.

this thread should be moved to GAL.

Too true.

is professor X natural tho?

What he teach?

I DONT LIKE IT WHEN MOMMY AND DADDY FIGHT, PLZ STOP.

I respect zraw way more than professor x, for 2 reasons: first, I find the fact that he is competing quite fascinating, and second, he has helped me way more than prof x. Nevermind the last one, nothing prof x has ever said helped me.

I wasn’t going to really post in this thread much but I don’t want Professor X to get the wrong idea.

I think infiniteshore, browndisaster, and a few others SHOULD block Professor X simply so we don’t have to deal with the bullshit every time X wants to post. It’s just plain annoying. If you cannot stand the man that much; block him. It would save him the trouble and improve the quality of posts for everybody else.

Professor X may not be perfect but none of us are. However, unlike others, some of us are able to look past that and realize that he still holds a great deal of knowledge when it comes to lifting. His advice may not be for everyone but he has still helped a lot of people learn.

And despite popular belief he does not recommend getting fat for the sake of getting bigger. When I was 18 and trying to put weight on too quickly… it was HIM who told me to slow down and try for a 1lb or 2 a month. ;)
This post should end this thread. No one is stopping intelligent discussion. In the past week I have had a college student telling me that the human body has few variables to be concerned with when gaining muscle. This was Austin biceps. His post was responded to intelligently and he responded with a reply that was nothing more than an insult.

You guys are speaking to professionals who have been lifting for several years. I will not apologize for mentioning this when it arises because the resulting childish arguments are often filled with nothing more than “bro-science” lately and guys with youtube accounts.

Bottom line, many people here don’t agree with the OP…so once again, the people should be left to decide for themselves…and it looks like they did.

If YOU have such a problem with me, put me on ignore so this board can continue without your input about me in every thread.

If you have to tell people to get rid of me, you already lost…in more ways than one.

I know I personally have way less respect for a few posters here since they have started responding like this.
what do you mean your a professional? arent you a dentist?

also yes you have lifted weights for many years… so have a shit load of other guys here who have both more experience and better physiques than you.

i dont actually mind you that much as a poster despite us constantly being dicks to each other. but i will say on thing, your problems is that its actually impossible to have a debate with you. you cant accept people not agreeing with you, even if that persons is way more knowledgeable and experienced in bodybuilding?

Do We Even Lift?

Is This Real Life?

Honestly this is the internet… a little below you to even post this thread. If he bothers you … be the bigger person and IGNORE HIM… You will be forced to deal with many people in life whom you dont like or disagree with… Also many people come and go on this site. It is what it is. This site isn’t exactly real life nor is it the be all end all for training information. It’s a nice place to waste time. Don’t take life so seriously, you’ll never get out alive. LoL

I cant for tge life of me remember the title. Aomething like " for professor x" or something. Maybe someone can help me out. The thread was ongoing while px was training at hq which made it all the more entertaining.

Thanks y’all, this thread is pretty amazing, as is the other one concerning set point theory.

I kept it open in a separate tab all day long to hit F5 every now and then.
Slick stuff: a lot of laughs and chuckles were had and I see I really missed out on some good old e-fun, what with all the sub forums T-Nation has to offer (some of the Indigo Logs are really great reads, been enjoying Serge A. Storm’s log, for example and la cucina anabolica courtesy of SteelyD helped me impress the poultry hating in-laws).

The Bodybuilding forum, though, is where it’s at: this is where you get the most bang for your buck. Kinda miss RogueVampire, though.

Maybe, zraw and X will meet at a feisty steak restaurant, one day, and trade stories about how they provided for TN drama. I know X and Shugart shared a steak or two, once. so: who knows?

Now, if only the Atomic Dog cared to get out of his hot pound, I’d feel like mid 20s, again - yay.
