Some Lighthearted News from Canada

I like to read the Reuters Oddly Enough Blog because regular news tends to make me sad. I came across this from our friends from the Great White North that I found amusing. I’m hoping no one is offended.

I didn’t know Pam Anderson was Canadian. Something else good that comes from Canada. Along with Rush, and our own CT.

Is it wrong that I think poutine sounds tasty?

poutine is great. there’s another version called Italian poutine that uses spaghetti sauce instead of gravy. it is also great.

every hear of breaver tails? another Canadian food that is great.

pam is also great.

Everything is great in the great white north. Montreal proved that last night. bye bye Washington

GO HABS GO!!!

I must admit that Beaver tails are my Achilles heal! I can literally eat 5-6 of those in a row (of course if you don’t know what beaver tails are, the preceding sentence makes me look kinda gay or like a perv!).

Thib,

In England, you would get at least 12 years hard time for eating ‘5-6 beaver tails’ in a row, share a cell with a 300lb biker called shirley who wants to be your ‘special friend’. A ‘power snatch’ would be something you would do after shirley said ‘you had a pretty mouth’ during shower time.

I guess anyone from England hasn’t got a Scooby Doo (clue for all the Canadians) what your on about. Sounds fun though.

Been to Canada, beautiful country, cool people (Halifax Nova Scotia is one of my fav cities)… AWESOME strip clubs, especially in Montreal. Those girls can do things with a ‘Tooney’ I never though possible. You know what I’m talking about.
Non of that stuff in England…All we’ve got is a stiff upper lip.
I’m off to live in Bangkok in June…Beaver tails galore.

It’s a kind of pastry that pretty much eats like a pizza.

I guess you could call them a cross between a donut, danish and pancake.

I would destroy those.

Damn it England! Where are our beaver tails? How come we never thought of what is basically a sweet pizza? Looks like good eatin. We’ll have to call them swan necks or something though - For the sake of national integrity you understand…And to avoid getting ones face smashed in when ordering at the local ‘chippy’.
(There’s one for Thib and all the Canadians - A ‘chippy’ is basically a shop where EVERYTHING is deep fried, hygiene is questionable, and usually frequented at about 2am by persons who have consumed vast amounts of alcohol - thus destroying their taste buds and decision making skills)
See we’ve got some wacky stuff in England too…

It’s a kind of food shop that pretty much eats like artery clogging shit.

Yours is better (begrudgingly)

Any one else got any better than beaver tail or chippy?

Lovely…

I have a serious appetite for savoury food, I could easily put down 2 large pizzas if i really wanted to but after 2 beaver tails, I would be K-O’ed. You need a ridiculous sweet tooth to eat 6 full sized beaver tails in one sitting.

The beavertails posted in the 2nd picture are tiny and the ones in real life are a lot bigger.

If you’re in Ottawa forget the beaver tails hit up the shawarma shops which are on every corner!!!

fried dough pastries…I WANT!

By the looks of that avatar, I’m sure you’ve glazed a few pastries in your day.

I looked at the store locator and apparently there are shops in Keystone and Breckenridge. Hey CT, there’s another reason to come to Colorado. Next time I’m in Breck I’m going to have to try some.
