yes!!! Hubby warned against wearing them at night, LOL!
My big toe is acting up. Not sure if its the new shoes I just got or what. But it feels like the same crap that was going on while I was in the military. (the reason I was on medical hold for 5 months)
from my toe to the bottom of the ‘pad,’ is stiff, limited motion if I try stretching it, and hurts to walk on it…roar. And to this day between my heel and the ball of my foot, there is this big marble sized knot of who knows what. They used to give me cortisone injections for the pain.
Catching up in here MiM. YAY on hubby coming home, boo on the smoking, and congrats on making working out at home a fun thing - tires, I want some too.
ciggs for me = de-stress, vacation and time out. I don’t need patches, just have to focus my attention on something else. With the work load I had this week I also smoked like 6 this week and threw the pack out. Letting myself buy it and smoke a few was like letting off steam. I totally get ya. Now you and me both have to focus on staying positive, strong and focused on the good stuff
Nikki- definitely try the rows!! I’m STILL feeling it…although it coulda been the DL’s and tire flips…
still, you should try them!!
LP- hey, thanks for stopping in. Working out at home has been different…I needed a break from the gym scene. Not feeling very social lately, I guess.
N- I looked up “tires,” under a search and a list of places popped up. Called the nearest one and VOILA! It’s a tractor dealer…perfect!
They had a whole tire scrap pile. I had to wait for a friends use of her truck, but it all worked out. I got greedy and took two home…at least they store nicely behind the shed…won’t hubby be surprised, shhhhh…he thinks(knows) I’m a goof anyway.
Hiya Trav! I don’t quit many things, but smoking has to got to GO!!
Alexus- don’t admire me just yet…I felt like a wuss and my knees aren’t very impressed this morning. I was trying to steal ideas from the german volume training.
Thank you though!
Have you looked into the patches? I guess you just gotta put your foot down.
I’m not a very good candidate for smoking. My Dad’s family all passed away(mom, dad, all 5 siblings) due to alcohol/smoking related health problems. And my Moms Mom died when she was just 9 from emphysema.
Aaaand, I’m a carrier of TB?? When I got the patch test done in Bootcamp mine stayed positive.
I was young(18) and all the details are blurry…but that’s just one more thing against me.
More errands this morning. Taking a rest day anyway…Im sore head to toe(literally!) May do some yoga and play with my “foam roller.” (my pvc pipe)
Hubby called this morning and he is supposed to land in DC TOMORROW NIGHT
-has panic attack, runs around in circles, falls down- :THUD:
But he will stay with a friend for the night, come home Friday morning after our son goes to school…and then we will go surprise him at school (on his Birthday no less!!!)
yay!!!
…still holding my breath a little…once he calls again to say that he made it on the plane to Germany, then it’s “smooth sailing.”
“L” (snap) “W” (snap) “I” (snap)? Hell yeah, that’s how I say it in my head!
That’s SO AWESOME that hubs is going to be home in time to surprise your son at school. Wow, that’s going to be a tear factory for sure, if you video it, don’t let me see it or I’ll cry like a baby!
Good luck quitting smoking, that shit is so nasty it’s not even funny. Kick the habit like you kick ass in the gym. DO IT!
Not sure how the GVT effected my body comp. I’ve actually never had my bf% measured. But, I definitely put on some size. I ate like a horse on that program. Like “get home from the gym and eat for 3 hours” hungry. I guess it is really a hypertrophy program. I was up to 138+ at the end of 5 wks. I switched back to a high intensity/lower volume program immediately after.
My ass/thighs got bigger and stayed bigger (frigggin glutes/hams/quads), much to the liking of my man and the detriment of my bank account. Had to buy new pants (again) which is impossible for a size 2/4 with huge legs and just 5’2". (Rant over.) Back down to sub-135 now, currently about 132, but still looking big. I also slept even more than usual (which is a lot).
Luckily, I had extra time b/c the training schedule is less time-intensive. I don’t think you could/should run a program like that for more than 6 wks. I liked it because it was time-efficient, challenging, and I had a lot of fun doing it.
Thanks Cal!
It’s going to be a quite the whirlwind of an emotional filled two weeks…And then I ‘soldier,’ on.
VS- hmmm…I’m looking for something challenging, that will aid in my lean muscle goals. I like the simple, yet ass kicking aspects of the program…hmmm
Not looking to put on weight though…nope, not I!
