Socially unacceptable or just too weird for most listeners?
Too weird for most listeners. Few hang around long w/ Beefheart on the stereo

Sorry but shakira can do all that was stated above EXCEPT sing. Her voice is terrible and she has no talent in the “singing” department.

I used to think that too. when she first became popular in the U.S. I thought, great another blonde pop-star … I wonder if this one has a brain …

but when I finally heard her spanish music I thought she sounded pretty original. she has a wide variety of singing styles too. so, if you haven’t heard her whole (spanish) album, you probably shouldn’t be so quick to judge her ability. Plus, she writes her own music and plays guitar. Not to mention she speaks several languages fluently and despite all of her success and wealth, she is still taking the time to continue her education in language and music.

I like her because she’s smart, sexy, talented, and still cares about the people living in poverty in South America (my family is also from S. America). She also charges much less for concert tickets here in the U.S. than most performers because she wants it to be affordable to anyone. all around she just rocks.

end rant. :)
Im not fluent enough in spanish to critique it, but her english stuff sucks, thats all im saying. Lets not get into how amazing of a woman she is, because that has nothing to do with it.

Wise Men - James Blunt.

(That 10-times a day replay on the commercial radio eventually got that one through.)

i mainly listen to punk. a little metal, ska, experimental, and prog-rock in there too…

believe it or not, i really love Ace Of Base hehe. I don’t listen to it a lot, but they are one of the only ‘pop’ bands i can listen to.

i also love Supertramp. But im not embarrased to say that cuz they are one of the best fuckin bands ever

I have most of Natalie Merchant’s albums. And Norah Jones’s. I’m a sucker for soulful ladies.

I will admit I like Natalie Merchant. That girl can sing.

Do You Really Want to Hurt Me? - Culture Club

When I Need You - Leo Sayer

Copacabana - Barry Manilow

(Sigh…)

My MP3 player list of shame~

Slave - Brittney Spears
MIssy Elliot’s new album
Ohh, and Kelly Clarkson’s new album.

Does my Atreyu and As I lay Dying make up for those???

hahaha. I think that’s the funniest one yet.

I have listen to pretty much every type of music. That is not to say that I like alot of music… more like I find songs that are so good that I listen to them even though I prefer and dislike some genres in general. The worst was when I let my friend listen to my CD player and there was a B.I.G song followed by “I need a hero” and my friend who listens to only rap gave me this look that was saying “damn your a fag”

That was pretty embarrasing, yet fucking hilarious.

I have you all beat! I have that really gay Daniel Bedingfield song on mine. I guess that isn’t as bad as having Daniel Bedingfield and Natasha Bedingfield. Others that I should be too ashamed to mention but will anyways. Gone by Backstreet Boys or whoever, Cry me a River by no other than J.T., and the worst music to ever have to listen to while lifting…Fiona Apple.

Doesn’t She Look Happy?

Bye Bye Bye by NSync is socially unacceptable (despite my head movements when I hear it), but Seal isn’t exactly hated.
Dude Seal is damn talented in my opinion, but for some reason I constantly get shit for telling people I like him
