Soccer Sucks

Sarcasm readers don’t work anymore these days?

also any sport can be exciting if it’s part of a cultural heritage. I don’t like/barely understand/find boring…cricket.

I think if i grew up in England or India where it is introduced at a young age, shown on T.V., played by large numbers of youths and pro players are idolized I may have a different take on it. [/quote]

Some sports are so boring that cultural influence is less important than personality when it comes to how much an individual will enjoy watching or playing it. My mates were all cricket obsessed and it was very much a part of our culture, yet I couldn’t play for more than about 3 minutes without feeling sleepy.

Perhaps if I were old enough to take LSD the sport might have taken an interesting turn, but by then I had developed other interests.

Those who ridicule others’ sports are very likely lacking in a certain fundamental character trait.

Kind of like the bully in middle school.

Who cares if you don’t like a certain sport. I think it’s safe to say that the top athletes in every sport are really good at what they do because they put in extreme amounts of effort.

Bashing into someone is not a prerequisite for sport. You sound like a primitive animal if you believe that.

Of course it isn’t, but you must admit, it does improve nearly every sport. Isn’t Battle Chess so much more fun than normal Chess?

Wouldn’t golf be a much better spectator sport if an opponent was allowed to block you at tee-off?

Or instead of having both team mates on the same side of the net in doubles tennis, you have one on either side of the net?

Have you ever watched a movie about yacht racing? No? What about a movie about Pirates, or Naval battles? Yes? Now why is that?

Anyway, if lack of contact in soccer puts you off, feel free to watch Australian Rules football instead.

Soccer is just as much fun to watch as baseball.

I wholeheartedly support the OP’s assertion…
