and he took me off androderm and is sending me for bloodwork next week. will this make my testosterone uber low? then he said depending on the results he will give me injections. i want to have kids in the future but have no timeline so he said he wouldnt give me hcg or hmg. sould it take these anyway? and how do i get it?
From what you have stated, your doc appears to be an idiot. He has lots of company.
Depending on how long you were on T-gel, if you were HPTA shutdown, your labs results could be very low. He should test for FT and TT. LH and FSH would tell a story as well, but the story is not about you but about this artificial situation.
thanks ksman your post always help…I have only been on androderm for a month…i have the bloodwork order here and he is ordering the following: comprehensive metabolic panel, c-peptide (fasting), bhcg(quantitative), alpha subunit, psa, igf-1(somatomedin c), ths, t4 free, t3 total, vitamin d 25-hydroxy, total testosterone, prolactin, estradiol, lh, fsh, cortisol. now for the hcg i heard that 250iu e3d was enough what do you think? i know you state different in your trt injection protocol but i dont want to prick myself everyday.
hCG is 250iu EOD not every day. That dosing is driven by research published in 2005.
The LH/FSH results will be some kind of transient values. I don’t know what they will mean.
The bhcg(quantitative) results will determine if you are pregnant! This test can detect some testicular cancers.
Avoid ejaculation before the test as this can increase prolactin levels and PSA levels.
If the test included lipids or glucose, you need to do a 12 hour fasting.
I do not see DHEA-S or pregnenolone. These would again be in a recovery transient state and not really going to be of much value. Test these later when stable on injections.

no i feel the androderm was a waste of time plus it was burning my skin. he is leaning towards injections but want to wait for the labs. but he said if i want to have kids in the near future he will give me a pill, didnt say what, im thinking a-dex?? im thinking of getting the injection and just self medicate hcg and a-dex
TRT causes HPTA shutdown. hCG is the only practical alternative to the testes shutting down and it can only be injected. hCG should be used continually. Doc thinks that he is going to start your atrophied testes back up with clomid or nolvadex [pills]. The testes can degrade to small non functional lumps of collagen. Why take that risk?
You were not absorbing, so it is really good that you are getting your thyroid status checked out!
