A very late congrats on the meet. Expectations aside. You kicked butt.
So how’s the bench going?
Just when I thought I would be competing in a meet here in Orlando in the USAPL they aren’t listing a meet here in all of 2014. What’s up with that?
Only cause I know…That new avi is pumping me up! ![]()

You know I love to bench, right?

Conspiracy?

You are a mysterious woman, Up.
So not too much exciting going on unless you’re into sets of 6-15 reps, which I am not. But I am doing them nonetheless.
Going to do a meet winter/spring. Don’t know what or where yet. But I definitely have some firm goals in mind.
What are your goals babe? Besides bigger trophies?
Your bench is going up solidly. I love any lift that is going up solidly…learn to love the bench!

Babe? Like the pig?
Trophies don’t matter to me. But I want another state squat record, which will require serous dieting/weight loss. I have failed at that endeavor before. We’ll see how it goes this time.
Two more weeks on the higher reps programming. God, this shit is boring. I could never do bodybuilding. Aside from the fact that I have small muscles, minimal breast tissue, can’t walk in high heels, and don’t like being watched, I don’t enjoy the programming that goes along with the sport. I miss the heavy triples, doubles, and singles of powerlifting.
I am having trouble finding a USAPL meet nearby that would be at the right time for me. It’s either February 1 or July.

No. babe like babydoll. lol. sorry for the lingo, not trying to demean or anything. state squat record sounds awesome. i admire competition at that level. you can do it!
These USAPL meets can be difficult to make plans for. I just read on PLW that the IPF has approved some raw masters competition. I would love to take part in that.
It took me awhile to get back into counting more than 3 reps, so I feel your pain. Not to mention I don’t get the same head rush.

I’m the exact opposite lol. There is so much pressure (from myself) to hit a certain weight or reps or even to just move a weight easily enough. If I don’t perform up to my expectations the whole week is ruined until I can perform the lift again and redeem myself. Bodybuilding training is so low stress though! It’s like nothing matters; all you have to do is go lift weights.
USAPL meets are hard to come by in my area as well one or two tops…Other feds like RPS and WNPF will host 4 or 5 meets a year within 2 hours drive.

Be glad you are not afflicted with the powerlifting addiction.

Yup. It’s true.

USAPL and NASA are the only federations that are active near me.
Knee is trashed. Getting it checked and hoping for the best. Meanwhile, I continue to hammer my upper body with super exciting things like rows and curls.
Good luck with the knee…
…and bench. Your bench was going up so well last tournament prep, now is the time to learn to love the bench.
Good luck with the knee.
Knee is not getting better.
As some of you may recall, I went down hard on my third attempt at my last meet and got caught by the spotter pretty late in the game. It has been only a minor annoyance until last Sunday, when it started this crazy unpredictable buckling behavior. I had a PT assess it yesterday. He said all ligaments are attached. But that doesn’t explain the instability and buckling. So I am going to get it checked by an ortho on Monday.
Meanwhile, I miss squatting.
Good luck, hope it is easily fixed.
Snap- Here’s to hoping you complete the “it’s not as bad as it could be” exacta with Bulldog.
