Dammit woman you can’t move to the Over 35 thread, it smells like old man over there. Srsly.
Blind lifting would be something. If I tried to deadlift while blindfolded I would fall on my face. Have to respect those guys.

Yeah, the coaching thing was hysterical. I had 20 minutes to get through the entire Powerlifting 101 with these girls. The really funny thing was that at the end of the meet, one of the girls asked me how old I was. When I answered, she expressed astonishment and said she thought I was about 25. Definitely pumped up my ego until I remembered that she was with the blind contingency and was legally blind! Arrgghhyy.
Progress for the day: I can scoop hard ice cream without my bad shoulder crepitating uncomfortably! This is cause for celebration.
so…
waitin on that ice cream…
whos the new girl?
oh, it’s you! Lookin fine.
oh and I hope you actually ate the ice cream too!
you already lookin beauteous to me Mrs Snapper
-lol at the blind comment. Maybe that means your voice sounds young?
And I won’t comment on the 35+ forum 'cause I got some buds there as long as you bring your ass over to check out my squat form i.e ass once in a while too.
I’ll try to keep the old man smell down while I’m here but this little discussion (and the new icon) does bring up a interesting point. In general the 35+ women are in far better over all shape than the 35+ men, we are getting put to shame. Any other comments on the icon would be inappropriate, well they would be if I were making them.
You don’t have to be blind to think you look like your twenty-five, see my wrist wrap eatting video for proof.

Personally, I love the smell of old man in the morning. So much so that I had to get one for myself.
I think the 35+ group in general in are excellent overall shape.
If you can’t make an inappropriate comment about her new avatar, perhaps I can. Snap, you look amazing. The only time my mid section looks that good is when I’m leaning backwards.

Actually, the glass is three-quarters full. Thanks for the reminder, Eco. Sometimes I need to be knocked up side the head.
I’ve thought about moving to the old folks’ home (over 35 thread). May do so when this thread is retired and I’m back to being the strong, although old, beast that I am.
I really enjoyed helping the girls at the meet. I do find it to be a barrel of fun to be in the position of coach/instructor. It makes me think about becoming a trainer. But then I see and hear what trainers go through (right Mom-in-MD?). I would only want to work with people who are driven and don’t whine. And those types are few and far between in the gym.
The blind lifters were fascinating, O. I found myself feeling quite verklempt every now and then watching them.
I can teach you the commands, Joe!

HAHAH! Now that is funny shit.
I check out the over 35ers all the time! For…er…mobility stuff…oh who am i kidding, I have daddy issues.
New avi is smokin HOT!!!
Nice rehabbing mistress - 75% success rate is a strong number (and I’m a statistician, so my word counts).
over 35 ftw.
Actually there is less drama- there then other forums and like here people are about the e-support and the training
ps the avatar is nice.
I really like that bikini top.
Thanks for the compliments on the new avatar.
Inappropriate comments are always welcome in my log, Joe, as long as they are flattering to me. Oh, could you send me the link to the wrist wrapping vid? I never did see it. And the smell of “old man” is just fine with me, since I’m an old woman myself.
Long PT session today with 12 different exercises (all 3 x 10), not including 8 minutes of warmup on the hand bike. I bumped up to 8 lb. DBs on the floor presses but had pretty bad pain where the biceps tendon inserts into the humeral head on the descent of each rep. I may back off on the weight for my next session to play it safe.
I don’t know why I’m having so much pain there. Just another question for my surgeon on Friday. I have a long list for this appointment . . . I’m really, really hoping that my surgeon will allow me to do my little circuit (squats, conventional DL, sumo DL, romanian DL, GMs) with the 45-lb. bar. I feel so stinking silly doing it with a 3-lb. bar.
I’m meeting with my coach tomorrow. Haven’t seen him in six weeks. So that’s super exciting.
ooh! 8lb dbzzzz , thats awesome!
hey, I’m trying here
you really think your surgeon is going to let you go 3-45lbs??

ya - progressive stimulus doesn’t mean a jump from 3# to 45#s but I guessing that all might be ok except for the bar across your back.
Hey an increase is an increase so be proud and take it as what it is, the next step in the road.
The new icon is absolutely jaw dropping.
You’re all assuming the surgeon knows about the circuit with the 3-lb. bar . . .
Thanks, Joe.

That sounds like me after the hernia surgery. A week after I got back to lifting my doctor told me it was okay to start light exercise.
Please don’t do anything foolish. I know you must be gnawing at the bit to do your stuff. I think if you nurture it a bit longer, it will more than pay dividends. I’m not certain I could follow my own advice but you already know it’s good advice ![]()
