just wanted to chime in and say love the avi too and great news about the rehab.
Hey Ms Snap, long time lurker, first time poster on your log. Just wanted to say great news on your recovery from the shoulder surgery. Being an active participant in the medical and rehab process like you are actually makes you a surgeon’s dream. You’re going to be one of the success stories.
ps: re your post in MiM’s log earlier. For an intelligent woman, you’re pretty daft.

Should I say thanks or be insulted?
Neither. I was just saying [badly as it turns out] that of course they’re checking you out.
Nice shoulders, Snapper!
Shoulder. Not shoulders. The other one is not so nice.
I believe a steady diet of red meat in large portions will speed your recovery. You’re in a good region for Buffalo right?
One delicious delt is better than zero.
Now Joe has made me hungry for red meat.
Bison, Joe. Yes, we actually have a large herd about five miles from where we live. Also elk. The elk are wildly plentiful here.
You don’t have to twist my arm to eat red meat. Love it.
And one delicious delt is pretty damn good.
Tomorrow’s a big day. My first physical torture, umm, physical therapy session. Can’t wait. It’s the masochist in me.

Drove by a bachelor group of elk this morning, must have been more than a dozen. Bunch of young ones and a couple of monsters.
Happy PT Day tomorrow!
tapping feet waiting for the promised pretty shoe pic…

Yeah! we need snapper toes!
how about a pic of the Bison while your at it. The kind on a a plate.
There is something missing in this log…
LOVE the shoes. I would totally wear those, and will gladly take them off your hands if you don’t ever wear them despite their gorgeousness.
My default pedi color is a nice red, so I applaud your choice there.
So yesterday. Started the day out by driving my full-size belt down to Brute. I’m so thrilled she will be able to use it. When Brute becomes rich and famous because of her amazing squats and DLs, I’ll be able to say . . .
Then went to the gym and did some pistol squats to a low bench, ab work, stepups, and wall squats followed by 15 minutes on the stair climbing machine. Can’t wait until my workouts become more substantiative again. I have to keep things very mellow since I’ve promised my surgeon that there will be no “straining.”
Then it was time for my first physical therapy session. I gave my PT all my medical documentation (including the operative report) plus orders from my surgeon. He was amazed at the thoroughness of my surgeon, who had written out an extremely detailed protocol for the PT to follow with me. My PT’s comment “your surgeon must really care about you” made me feel tremendous.
The PT session itself was so humbling. Lots of measuring to see my baseline mobility (horrific). For example, my external rotation (needed for holding the bar to squat) was 118 degrees on my good arm and, umm, 15 degrees (THAT’S IT) on my not-so-good arm. The session consisted of the PT trying to snap my arm off by moving it in ways it doesn’t want to go. Not so pleasant. I didn’t complain but admitted to the PT that I don’t trust the process yet and wouldn’t be surprised if my shoulder dislocates or the anchors come loose. He promised that wouldn’t happen. I was sent home with inane (but exceedingly important) exercises. Next session is tomorrow. This will be my life for the next 12 weeks.
stay positive!!
although, that sounded painful, sheesh…
Ok, I’m with Kimba, I love those shoes! If they fit my man-sized feet, I would totally steal them. ![]()
The first PT session is always the worst. I have a feeling that if you stick with the inane exercises, your ROM will improve dramatically. Especially once the scar tissue starts breaking up (ow!).
:)! i will have to be a badass now, I have literal Snapper support!
I bet your surgeon DOES care about you. He probably has invested interest in getting you back on track, that is great to hear!
…oh my goodness! that is QUITE a difference in external rotation…wow. does that mean you have to make a long drive everyday or weekday? now that sucks!
