Snap Back

hot springs nice… very jealous.
rest up some and come back strong :::slight_smile:

I’m pretty sure those socks provide an unfair advantage… And, you’re clearly not going to bomb out on account of depth; those are some nice looking squats. Good luck with the meet!

Sorry - but y’all are early. The meet is December 4th and 5th.
Well. dont I feel like a idiot. Regardless ive still got my pom -poms ready to go :)
Haha, whoops! Me too! Must have missed a post somewhere back there.

Hey, if I’m not reffing on Sunday I will assist you and RG.

Hot springs were FABULOUS.

2.5 weeks till the meet. Thanks for all the cheerleading and well wishes. It means so much to me.

Today’s training.

Bench
8/45
5/55
5/62
5/67
3/72
2/75
1/77
2/75

Then had to shirt and help my coach. Took awhile.

Then moved on to Smolov Week 3, Day 1

Somewhat disastrous. By this time, I’d already been in the gym two hours.

Squat
8/45
5/75
3/95
3/110
The plan was 7 sets of 5 at 125. But here’s what I got:
4/5/125
4/125 Hard crash on the fifth rep. And my coach said “you’re done.”

My form was not so great today. My coach said I was 6 inches below parallel on every rep with no pop outta the hole and my chest folding up on the ascent.

I’ll spend the next ten days practicing triples, doubles, and meet attempts for squat. In other words, I’m bailing on the last two training days of Smolov. I’ll deadlift once more. Try to get close to 2x bodyweight.

Gotta catch up on everyone’s logs.

That would be fab. It will be tricky since we’ll be in the same flight and I’m supposed to do his gear.

By the way, meant to contact you: He has a shirt he wants you to try at the meet. Glad to hear you’ll be there.

Hey, 77 is not bad with a wonky shoulder. My wife, about the same size as you, might be able to do 77x1 without a wonky shoulder, but not much more. 77 is much better than a bar and two collars.

Are you wrapping his knees too? I’ve never wrapped anyone’s knees but my own.

If it’s Ali’s old custom, there’s no way I’ll get into that. I think she couldn’t get into it at 165.

Thanks. I was pleased to hit it today since it’s supposed to be a third attempt. I will blow past these numbers soon enough. But I’ve never been much of a bencher.

Honestly, that squat session doesn’t make it to “disastrous”. Unless that crash was to the floor. Then, maybe.

Wow, Snap, your lifting is looking awesome.

Yes but you have been wrapped by the best so something should have rubbed off on ya.

22 years ago today I walked to the courthouse during my lunch hour and got married. Then went back to work and didn’t tell anyone.

Decided I will DL tomorrow instead of waiting another week. Will try to pull a max effort. Or close. I’m kind of impulsive like this. After the first of the year, I will get on a structured program for all my lifts.

Happy Anniversary! and do your max DL tomorrow just a little more out from the meet than next week

The great ones go on instinct.

Your spirit, energy, and impulsiveness are all very badass.

Why does this not surprise me.

Happy Anniversary!

Were you 5 months pregnant?

Just kidding. Happy anniversary.

Ha! I was married for ten years before I had my first child.

Here’s my daughter’s floor routine. Generally her lowest score but since she landed her final tumbling pass, it was enough to get her to the state meet when combined with her other scores…

Very cool! Congratulations to her!

yeah for Mini-Snap!
