Snap Back

Check out that bench! Clearly you have conquered the fear and are rapidly working your way back up.

Am hoping to pull out of a hormonal funk today. Its already lasted longer than it should’ve this month.

I concur!

Yes, you’re right. Most trainers are taught to squat this way and, hence, have their clients do the same. (Assuming they even put their clients in a cage, WHICH MOST DO NOT.) I’m not going to go into an elitist rant about trainers, but most of them really suck and don’t seem to customize programs to people’s goals well.

Having an overweight middle-age woman try to balance on a bosu while bicep curling with too much body English is a good example of a tremendous waste of time and money. But I see it at my gym ALL THE TIME.

So today’s my day off. still trying to decide: Volkswagon Tiguan or Honda CRV. I have a definite preference . . .

I must concur…sex with 50 year old women is truly mindblowing.

I can’t say I’m overly impressed with benching 62 lb. But it’s where my comfort level is right now and I’m thrilled that my shoulder is allowing it.

Hormonal funks are tremendously difficult. It’s both a mental and physical battle, I find.

Have you looked at the Subaru Forester?

Yes, that’s a great car. Here’s the deal: I don’t wanna drive a car that everybody else drives but need a small SUV because of where I live. Everybody drives a Subaru, Toyota RAV4, or Honda CRV. Consequently, I don’t want any of 'em. I really love the little Tiguan, but my husband is concerned about lifespan and parts availability. It’s a bit of an obscure model. I never see them on the road. Hence, I want one.

Totally understand. I like BMWs because of how they drive. But everyone and their friggin cousin has one (well not really but you know what I mean) so I probably won’t get one when I’m in the market. Or, I’ll get the diesel since it’s rare.

I own a Subaru but bought an odd one (Wagon, turbo, 5 speed) and modified it, 'cause I’m a punk like that, so that I drive something different. My wife thinks I’m a bit odd…I think I’m an individualist that prides himself on not being another lemming swayed by opinion, trends or even, on occasion, commonsense. Or, odd works.

I’m watching you mister. It wasn’t too long ago you posted that you met your girlfriend on T-Nation…she just doesn’t know it yet.

btw, if it’s ‘mind’ blowing, they’re doing it wrong. ha.

If you are going to go with a VW, you might as well get an Audi. My vote would be for a chipped S-4 Estate or an Allroad if you need a little more space. The fun-factor is through the roof.

You have a lot of fans I’m sure. I just wanted to sit back and watch a mini soap opera unfold in cyber space. Don’t disappoint me. I have my popcorn ready. If it’s Snapper though, she’s already had to shoo one young man away.

This is just a bit of a wind up… kind of.

No, no. I won’t be the star in the soap opera. Just an observer.

Sleeping with 50 year olds, eh LSU? Aren’t you like 17? Oh, I mean 27? Well, “older” women tend to be more comfortable with their bodies and know what they like and what, umm, works well for them.

I think Audi and BMW are too pricey. I’ve basically talked these guys into selling me the VW for the price of a CRV/RAV4. Time will tell.

Gorgeous fall day here today. I’ve got a nice hike lined up with a friend later this afternoon.

should i go back to the kiddie table??

More growed up than i expected.

Smolov Jr. Week 2, Day 2

Squat
8/45
5/65
5/85
7/5/103

Too easy. So I threw in some singles.

1/115
1/120
1/125
1/130
1/135
1/140 (1.27x bodyweight)

Definitely back in my groove. After I finished the 140 lb, a guy came up to me and said “I’ve never seen someone so small squat so much so deep.” Made me feel really, really good. My depth is spot on now. Just dipping it below parallel but not ATG. I only hit the safeties once today, and it was purely a matter of getting tired. Unlike most people, I drop too deep when fatigued rather than cutting it short.

That’s awesome snap!!! Way to go girl, that’s really nice.
