lol I would think so too but I seem to get worse real quick as I go above those weights and go for a max. I believe it is something with my setup, because usually the second rep feels lighter than the first (if I can get the first without it being a crazy grinder).[/quote]

For example, last time I did 515x3, today I went for 525 (and admittedly wasn’t really feeling it today, but still) and getting 1 was a grind.
Also I saw csulli’s standing ab rollout video so I gave em a go… Thought I was good at ab rollouts, was doing them for sets of 15 from my knees with a 45 pound plate on my back… standing are a different animal. I did get 8 total, in sets of 1-2, but every single rep I was not sure I would get back up. I think I may be hurting tomorrow.
Haven’t squatted over 285 in a good while, figured I’d try a bit heavier today, got a tough (but not too much of a grinder) 365, at 170 pounds. My best squat ever was 385 and I think I weighed around 190 when I got it. Would be cool to get 4 plates… 455 would be cooler, and I think would match my other lifts better, but let’s get 405 first.
Squatted 375, also at about 170, which is definitely a bodyweight PR. 2.5x BW would be a nice milestone to hit at some point, but I’m still a good ways away from that.
Haven’t benched heavy (over 285) in a good while, wanted to make sure I could still get 315 (all time PR is 345), did 315 pretty easy then did 325, and I was feeling pretty dumpy, weighing 170. Probably get 335 on a good day, might be very very close to that 2x BW bench. I seem to keep getting close and then not getting it though. We’ll see what happens in the next few months.
Deadlifted 520x2. Probably not technically as good as 495x5 or 515x3, but still a PR. Other training-related things I’m excited about right now:
Fiancée got me a good Inzer 10mm Single Prong belt for my birthday. Haven’t used it yet but am excited to actually use a good belt. Even gonna give deadlifting with a belt another try once I get used to it on squats.
Gym got a glute-ham raise, going to get awesome at those
Also going to get awesome at standing ab rollouts. Second time trying them I managed a set of 3. Hoping the combination of improving on rollouts, GHR, and good belt, plus just very good lifting/diet at the moment, will give me some good squat/DL gains
Fiancée has started coming to the gym, came 12 out of the last 15 days, seems to be enjoying it and has really improved a lot in the short amount of time. It’s a good feeling
335 bench press at 170, I can taste double bodyweight.
Also ordered myself some squat shoes. And realized I’m pretty close to 2.5 times bodyweight in that too (did 405, 425 is 2.5x), which not too long ago didn’t seem realistic at all. I think if there is a powerlifting meet in my city I just might go for it.
Benched 350! Pretty big milestone, happy about it. Not sure about bodyweight, yesterday morning I was 167 but then I had a Christmas dinner last night.
As of 4 days ago my best push press was 185… 4 days ago I got 195, today I did 205! Still quite low compared to my other lifts but nice to see it’s going up. I actually felt like I had a bit more in me but I’m being careful not to grind any out because I’m prone to hurting my neck when doing BB overhead work (but I really like doing it now).
