But seriously, when will it be my turn to be a Greek God?[/quote]
Haha well the good news is you’re like 6 inches taller than me so when you fill out some more you will just be much more impressive looking all the time, where I have to get super lean and take my shirt off.
It’s been a while, finally something relatively worthy of an update:
So I think I overdieted back in June. Basically went too restrictive/too low BF while also having too much life stress/not enough sleep/etc, call it overtrained, call it whatever you want, basically I lost a bunch of strength, felt like absolute dump and lost my motivation for eating well/working out hard. For about 2.5 months in the summer I ate lots of everything. To make matters worse, for a month of that my neck was hurt so I was barely lifting, while eating way too much, and the rest of the summer as well I went on trips and so on, still getting to the gym but not as much. I did have a lot of fun, but I got in significantly worse shape over that time period, and did not gain back the strength I lost when dieting, because I wasn’t doing the right things.
HOWEVER
September came, routine returned (with a much less stressful schedule), and I’ve been killing it for 6-7 weeks. I’ve gotten noticeably leaner and stronger (and looking a bit bigger) while losing a bit of weight (was up to about 181-183, now at about 175-178).
So, deadlift news: My PR was 520, and 495x2. 7 weeks ago I could not get 495, since then I got 495x1, then 2 weeks later 495x2, the next week 495x3, and today 505x3! Best progress I’ve experienced in a long time. All of those were dead stop reps, so I feel like I must be good for a big ol 1 rep pr soon. My plan for the next 6-8 months is focus on eating well and having awesome workouts, while staying around 175 pounds, and continue to slowly get leaner/stronger at this bodyweight. Also get that 2x bodyweight bench press sometime finally.
Thank you good sir. Good to see you logging again as well, I’m following, I just haven’t posted in it because then when I click on it it takes me to my post, instead of the most recent post, which is inconvenient.
