Sorry to hear that. Hope you are all good and docs give you the green light to go back home.
Edit: rather I hope they figure out why you were feeling like garbage rather than just sending you home.

He just came in, slapped me and took my breakfast muffin. Didn’t even give me any morphine!
Stress/echo coming up later. Its a good place. They’ll figure it out. ![]()
Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Piece of shit… if he ain’t giving morphine better compensate you with dilaudid!!
(But for real though don’t ask for it, that’s the easiest way for them to NOT give it to you lol)
“Drug seeking behavior” ![]()
Never heard of it!
Sending you a lots of prayers and get well energy!
I’m so sorry! Please recover quickly, as I’m sure you’re wanted back home.
I was just going to post an update.
I am back home! Doc didn’t want to move forward with an angioplasty after the stress test because the results didnt warrant that at this time.
So thats like good/
meh kind of news.
@anna_5588 @whang @Polar-Bear @dagill2 @mechinos and @QuadQueen
And everybody else- Thank you for the good vibes & moral support. Yinz are the best.
.
It’s 5-10x more potent than morphine lol
Oh, I know. They gave me that during the drano-coma.
I was just being facetious about the “drug seeking behavior” stuff.
5 words you never want to hear from a doctor, and I heard them loud & clear:
“This is going to hurt.” Right before he rammed an evacuation tube up my nose and down into my stomach.
. I kept pulling it out when I was k.o.'d.
So what’s the plan, then? You passed the stress test, but…?
I really like a good plan. In pretty much any situation, but particularly in this sort of situation (i.e. deadly ones).
Well, my one medication (metoprolol) has been reduced by half, cuz my BP is that good!
Actually it was at 134/90ish upon admission, along with a heart rate of 110+ bpm. That is messed up.
But it came back down, and by tues. morning at 6:30 was at 104/68. A little low for most poeple, but mine usually runs at about 110-115/70ish.
Me too. Fortunately (or not) I have a template! Cuz this looks exactly like the blockage that formed in 2020-2021.
And that plan is to continue with regular exercise and activities while being mindful of dangerous symptoms (stabbing left side pain, nausea, etc.) until it goes over 70% blocked. Thats the threshold for treatment.
Once there, probably angioplasty & stent. I have to time it so that its above the treatment threshold, but below ischemia. Like, last time it got to 95% blockage of the circumflex, and that was no good. It did more damage to the same area affected by the STEMI.
I’ll game plan it a little more thoroughly with the doc at my regular check up next month. Thats when we have time to really sit & talk about it.
Yikes! How about let’s not let it get anywhere close to this again!!
I’m not a doctor, but that sounds not good, very bad.
That will be my goal.
I’m pretty hard core with denial though. Aside from having a wonky perception of pain, I really like to lie to myself.
I was working with my buddy that day (monday) and told him something was wrong a little while before lunch. He said “Well maybe you should call it in. See what the docs office says.” To which I responded “Nah, maybe later. When I get home.” Then he asked again. Then he insisted.
So I finished up a couple things and called it a day.
If he had not insisted, then told me to follow up with him later, I probably (definitely) would not have called.
I agree.
. Its not good. Very bad. I was really hoping it would just go away.
Its what I do though.
It did not go away. Edit: like I had hoped.
No being stubborn!! This world needs you!!
hey man any news?
A little. Doc. cut my beta blocker dose from 25mg. 2x per day to 12.5 mg. 2x per day, so I have perked up significantly.
Just been taking it easy throughout the week, and today I’m just poking around the shop a little to see how it goes.
As per the plan- stay on my toes, look out for dangerous symptom clusters. Eat good, but not too good. Airdyne, etc.

All systems go. ![]()
When beta blockers work too good its also bad. You end up with a weak contraction that is inadequate to oxygenate your body.
Ohh interesting. Glad to hear that’s all you needed. Thinking about it, could that mean your heart has recovered to the point that that dose is too high, thus needed to be cut down?
