Yes, glad to see nothing rattled you at your meet. Damn iphone, cant watch vids…
Is the snore thing apnea? Sounds like your not getting much “pleasant” sleep. I forgot what it was like to consistently get good sleep.

Really impressive work even if you weren’t feeling weak and tired.

Doesn’t look like you have 175 in the crook of your elbows!
And sorry to have pissed you and BB off regarding the fee for records. I know how hard you two work for your organization and admire your dedication. This year will be an exciting year here as we are hosting USAPL Masters’ Nats as well as IPF World Masters’ Bench. I’ve already been asked to work both meets even though they’re months away.
paused Zerchers look like a special kind of hell. How long are you pausing for?

Until I can summon the energy to stand up? haha. Just a couple of seconds. It’s more of a deadlift assistance and the jump to 175 was harder than I anticipated.

I guess I do get a bit thin skinned. My irritation stems more from people that compete in our federation that nit pick, complain and whine… waaaaaaa. However, they don’t seem to spend any time working or getting involved so that they can make changes within the system. They just want to compete and cry when things aren’t precisely how they like them. The more I do, the more I realize the huge amount of work other people have done over the years to grow the sport and keep things running.
There are always things that, on the surface look questionable but when you get into the details and back ground, you realize that it was the best, if not perfect, option.
What will you be doing at the meet? When you say you are hosting them, is it your city or an individual club? Ours usually end up being run by a club with a ton of volunteers from all over the country.

As in everything in life.
Sometimes my comments come off as elitist or callous, although I certainly don’t mean them that way. Accusing me of being reactionary is warranted, but dismissive regarding your efforts and dedication to the CPU is not. You and I are both very passionate and opinionated about this sport, to be sure. I realize that organizations such as the CPU could not subsist without the commitment from volunteers such as you and BB.
I don’t know what specifically I’ll be doing at the meets, which are hosted by a private club owned by top-tier husband and wife powerlifters. In the past, I have done weigh-ins, trained newbies in commands and platform protocol, handled attempt cards, run the computers, and helped with drug testing. I’ll do whatever I’m assigned to do. My favorite task is probably running the computers. That little added rush of having to keep up and keep accurate . . .
I thought perhaps BB might be competing in IPF Masters Bench Worlds. Is he?

BB is funny in that he will never do a bench only meet. Although he is a decent bencher, his opinion is that powerlifting is three lifts ![]()
I think the only things I’ve never done at a meet is spot and load and drug test. At Worlds Cathy Marksteiner made me laugh about testing the masters women. She said it’s tough because we’ve all super peed before deadlifting so we don’t pee our pants so that nothing is left for testing.
I don’t mind the computer but it kind of stresses me out. I find it harder than reffing.

Can you imagine me being assigned to spot and load? Oh, I chuckled at that. Watching women pee is not fun. And I was instructed to “stay with them the whole time and watch the urine leave the body.” Hmm.
Running the computer is stressful. But I like it in some sick way. Do you guys use the Marksteiner program?
lol love the way BB says “come on” like its weightless what the hell ya doin.
Big kudos for no pads on your arms, that tuff right there!
Are you using the zercher instead of front squat or in addition? What differences do you find?
Your quads looked seriously cut in this vid, have you already cut down some?, i know you were talking about a lower weight.

I do zerchers in addition to front squats just to mix things up a bit.
Regarding weight, the plan is to get bigger but thanks for calling me fat. Bitch.
j/k. I need to fill out my weight class.

Congrats on the higher Wilks! Did you mean to come in lighter?
Big congrats on coming back after missing your first lift, did that shake you up at all? [/quote]
I never did answer this. I meant to come in heavier. 58.8 is too light at 5’6" in my opinion. I’m committed to biggerness now. I feel like I’ve stalled a bit so I’m going to take advantage of the fact that I can put on some size.
Thanks for the congrats. It is a big deal to me that I got my second after missing my first. Every other time I’ve missed my first, I’ve bombed. That was a huge mental hurdle for me and maybe one of the best things to come out of the meet.

I will give some of my biggerness, lol, nah you don’t want that kind of fluff…
I will always keep you in mind if I ever miss a first lift, be like O, calm, cool and nail it on the next attempt.

gravity was turned up. I keep having trouble with my right shoulder pulling up when I’m benching. I had the same problem at the meet. If you look at the bench part, you can see me trying to pull my right shoulder down. Somehow, my set up has gone awry ![]()
Paused squats to pins - just below parallel

Thanks K.
We had his family over on Saturday. His grand daughter is just over 1 month old. I have to admit, I’m liking the step-grandma thing. It’s nice to have a cuddle with a baby and be able to hand her back. She slept on the kitchen floor while we ate lunch and she looked just like a little drunk guy passed out under a bridge. Babies are awesome ![]()
How is your lifting and whatnot going? Are you planning a meet soon? We’ve got a shit ton coming up this summer.

I’ve been reading some stuff posted by STB about core work. Since it generally bores the shit out of me, I’ve been trying different stuff. This one was highly recommended by him. I was skeptical but no longer. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow but I have a feeling my erectors will hate me. FWIW, the most I’ve ever front squatted is 165 and I typically do reps at 135.

The best thing is that I managed to score a plate rack from my boss. We were chatting the other day and I mentioned I needed to get one. He happened to have an extra and it’s awesome and looks commercial quality. See picture.
nice plate rack and I do see the peg board too. I just need to get a db rack to get my tiny garage floor cleaned up now.
Good front squat holds, interest in hearing how your core liked it
