Size Matters

I got a new video camera for my birthday so you’ll all be subjected to a long boring compilation video.

Today was the last raw day before the next phase:

Deficit DL
135 sumo - felt like poop and was pulling in my left adductor so switched to Conv.
185-3
200-5x6

Good mornings
155-3x10

Band assisted Ghetto GHR - these are killer and look pretty stupid on video but have lead to many moments of sassy hilarity and ass poking when we both do them.
3x25

Shrugs
155-2x20
225-15

Push ups
41

Hyper managing kids and homework: the remainder of the evening.

Happy belated birthday O!

Those GHR’s were really impressive.

oooooo…I’ve never thought to try that ghetto setup! nice!!

Love it all!!

I started wearing the wrist wraps for the GMs, feels so good.

It really works well. Someday though, the band will snap and I’ll do an awesome face plant.

I like this last session- your making it look easy.

again I have to comment on your leg and thigh muscularity

you have great pop on your goodmornings

good stuff O_B_s

finally got to watch the video, yes, your GM’s have good hip strength/pop

GHR setup looks great, probably dangerous for me, I’d snap the band for sure…I’m thinking of trying something with my preacher curl setup…

Tuesday November 22

First day back into semi-gear

Bench
bar-10
65-5
95-3
115-1
135-4x3 loose shirt (old Fury-36)

Pull of boxes just below knee
225-3
315-3
335-5x3

Narrow stance/high bar squat
135-3x10

Pull ups
5,5,4,3,2

Push ups - 27

We went pretty fast with this; not much rest. I had to pick the girls up at youth group so we had to push through, clippity clop

My older daughter just got her drivers license so the next while should be exciting. The good thing is I don’t have to get up early to take her to church on Sunday. I’m such a heathen.

We celebrated by going on google translate and listening to “Olivia smells like farts” in multiple languages. It’s never boring.

Thursday November 24

Squat
bar-10
115-5
155-3
195-1
225-3 suit bottoms/no belt
250- 4x3 suit bottoms/belt

Bench to pins
bar-10
95-3
135-5x3

Most of this was time spent figuring out the set up

Snatch grip deads
135-10
155-10
175-10

bar roll outs
3x10

Saturday November 26

Deadlift
suit bottoms/no belt
I’m really trying to focus on staying up right, sitting back and pushing out with my feet
135-5
225-3
275-4x3

Watching the video made me realize I need my roots touched up :frowning:

Box squats - suit bottoms/no belt
We decided to use suit bottoms and this was the first time I’ve done them other than raw. It took a while to set up the right height. At first the box was too low to get down to at the wide stance I wanted to use as a DL assistance. We ended up stacking crap to a 14" height which still takes me just at/below parallel.

135-3
205-3
225-5x3

CG Incline bench
bar-10
65-6
85-2,3
75-5x6

This was hard to figure out. I’ve never done them and the groove felt very weird, like it was going to dump in front of me.

KB/DB swings
30-10
42-15
52-15

oh fuck. snatch grip deads…I have to try those in 2 weeks for this shoulder program I’m doing and I’m NOT looking forward to them. I’ll make sure I come back and watch your murder them again to get me all excited!

and then return here after I fail and feel worse!

I like the look of those snatch grip deads too. What do they work?
Maybe I’ll try in a few weeks, very light to test the shoulder.

suited (bottoms) box squats look good, keep working on keeping those knees out.

Snatch grip are supposed to be awesome for the snatch. haha. Actually upper back mostly but also glute/hamstring if you stiff leg them like I did. I find them tough mostly due to grip. I’ve gone to 205 before using straps.

The worst part of them is the grip. I’ve done them with straps and no shame whatsoever

Nice sumos. Your form looks great.

Those snatch-grip pulls are hard. It’s been a long time since I’ve done those.

oh! well i can’t figure out straps anyways! I’ve been shown… diagrammed…etc. they are beyond my ability to use!

Tuesday November 29

I was afraid that that might happen. We need to design a foot hanger.

Nice job at the meet. Did you have fun? There was quite a bit going on. I wish I were able to get down.
