Posting about squatting during your squat workout, eh? lol
Upon further review, I think that girl is pretty cool and I chose to believe that she’s legit. I think this is even cooler and legit-er though.
That’s the video that I was looking for. Now that I’ve seen this one again, the other one doesn’t seem that far fetched. I purely love watching this woman squat.
Keep in mind that this girl weights 40-50 lbs more than the other one.
It says on the video that she was training for the Beijing Olympics and weighs 71 kg; so 45 lbs more than the other girl. Mind you, this woman did if for an easy 12. She is wonderful to watch. It looked absolutely effortless. You have to read all the comments though. Some guy said her form was terrible.

People on T-Nation have said her form was terrible too.
i LOVE that oly girl’s vid…i’ve idealized her for quite awhile . her ass is GLORIOUS
the first vid…i dunno. she’s squatting in high top shoes too:{ and the vid seemed a bit distorted, like she looks smaller then she might be. But for women everywhere, i do hope she’s legit because that’s awesome.
. … does appear like a commercial for Joe Dirt personal trainer no matter what though which is lame.
EDIT:I just looked at more of her vids and I believe it now. I am jelaous as well
Sunday July 17 It is smoking hot today so we decided to train at Andyland in the AC.
BB complex mobility warm up
DL - suit bottoms. I got out the calendar last night and realized it’s only about 10 weeks to worlds so I’d better get the gear back on. I have a Velocity DL suit that I should be receiving this week. I’ve heard good reviews so we’ll see.

315-0 This was the first set I put my belt on and it was a fail. I think because I was facing the mirror and just go too far over the bar.

135-2 big fail. It’s tough to front squat after pulling and I don’t like doing it in chucks. I should have brought the other shoes

We finally had to leave to AC and decided to go for an hour walk in the woods. It was hot but very lovely.

that is a nice workout package you had there- hit all the bases well
I just didn’t want to leave the AC. It’s been pretty hot lately. The woods was nice though. We found a small waterfall to put our feet in to cool down.
Good luck with the Velocity. I plan to break mine in this fall. Feels like a piece of armor. I’m sure you’ll get serious poundage out of it. You’re used to serious gear, though, since you have a Katana.
I am so impressed with your raw numbers. Your strength-to-weight ratio is incredible. Always motivational to me.

Thanks. You always know the right thing to say
We got the velocities today and had to put them on right away. Of course it is tight as crap in the hips. I needed to use the slippers to get it on. We played with it for a little bit and I just did a couple of singles at 315 with the straps up. I didn’t feel like I was getting a ton of pop out of it but there are a couple of reasons. Number one, I pulled yesterday. Number two; the legs ride up when I use the slippers. I only use them with brand new suits. I like my suit legs pulled down because that’s where I get the most pop so now that I’ve had it on once, I won’t use the slippers again.
BB really liked the feel of his and has big hopes. He pulls conventional and the first time he tried to get to the bar, he stopped dead just like Snapper did so he undid his belt.

The shirt completely locked up with the humidity and nothing was moving. We took it off and put it back on with slippers to get the sleeves a bit higher. The result was a bit lop sided.

There’s a volume PR in there somewhere for reps and without a belt. It was hard and I was sweating like a whore in church

We squat on Thursday and it’s supposed to be 37 degrees and humid. I’m also back in my squat suit. It should be fun.
Thursday, July 21 - Hottest day of the year and perhaps a record breaker locally. Temperature got up to 35 C - 95 F with humidity that made it feel like over 40 C.
We trained in the garage but left the door shut and turned the fan on. We probably both dropped several lbs in sweat.
It was my first day back in my squat suit; the newish one. It was tough to get over my hips before but pulling it up in the humidity was crazy. It stuck to my legs like glue.

235-3 all sets straps down. My first rep I barely bent my knees. The suit stuck to my legs and my hips wouldn’t bend. The second two were better but not much.

The last two sets I went a lot wider for me. I’m not sure about depth but they were a lot easier. In fact depth was dodgy on all of them but a couple.
when we spoke about your neck being more muscular you can really see it in the squat videos
you have had quite the week- nice work
that session earlier where you pulled and benched was pretty crazy some big doubles in there
your arms are so tight to your body on your squats that is impressive- as is the weight you are doing for triples I think depth has more to do with the suit and it being hot as fuck.

Nice squats, depth will come. Man you really carry that bar low, jealous of that. Just can’t do it anymore
I was watching your squats the other day (repeatedly, wondering how you didn’t fall backwards and how you managed to make each rep so clean and just like the last) and I noticed how high you carry the bar. Like a lot of the ladies around here, I have no problems with flexibility. I think in general, women are more flexible. I can’t go any lower though because I don’t have the back to support it.
As it is, my lower arms feel like they take a lot of the weight and when I squat a lot I get pains in my hands. In fact, I have to be careful not to start leaning forward just to support the weight on my back the heavier I get. However, the bar position is pretty much the one I’ve always had and the one that feels most natural to me.

I used to carry it lower. After my several year lay off i had trouble hitting depth with the bar low (lost some mobility) and also my hip was pinching. Moved the bar up and stayed a little more up right and depth was better and it took some of the pressure off my hip. I still haven’t given up on getting it lower again but for right now i have to stick with what is working even though i don’t like it. I am going to take a few days to freshen up and will probably lower it for a few sets and see. One of these days i’ll get it back. I am not sure how i don’t fall either, my squats look kind of odd to me right now. I was much more of a back squatter at one time.
